how long does it take for the sweats to go away for methadone w/d

I have a 2 part question.. Ive now been clean off an 8 year methadone maintenance program for 19 days today, and am pretty much ok mentally, the only thing that still really bothers me is the freezing hands and feet and sweating REALLY bad under the arms, other than that, im pretty much ok..
1. is that caused by high blood pressure, because i check my blood pressure and it was elevated so ive been continuing to take a .1mg colonodine a day to help. wondering if i should stop that?
2. when will the cold/sweats go away? i dropped off at 43mgs of methadone, after tapering for a whole year from 90 so it wasnt THAT bad..

My ARM pitts are sweating like crazy. Clean 4 months from methadone. How long will this go on? I'm a female that can't wear normal shirts that us females love to wear because ill have pool sized sweat marks. Help?

HEy Josh your doing great congrads on 21days methadone is slow going but you will start to feel better as time goes by just hang in there....the emotional thing is normal mine where up and down also as are most of us doing this again just give it some time and things will smooth out a bit...check into some aftercare soon it will help you get past the emotional stuff as well as help you thew the ruff spots ...good luck and God bless...Gnarly

thank you gnarly, since i tapered for a whole year down past my 1/2 way point from 90 to 42.. It wasn't AS bad as i thought, the 1st 10 days were horrible, but im doing ok now, its been 21 days today. as i am a lil over weight,(maybe 20 lbs) im thinking it will take longer than normal, after 21 days i just wanna start feeling normal, my emotions are all over the place. i just want it to be over, & i know im only 21 days into it

HI Josh all I can say is WOW jumping at 43 sounds brutal but there is always exceptions to the rule...as for your post withdrawal symptoms they can last a wile methadone builds up in the fatty tissues in you body so it can take a wile for it all to dissipate out of your system you should start to notice you first improvements in 30days clean then again at 60 and by 90 I finely seen the light again get pluged into some aftercare now your going to need it down the road post methadone withdrawals can be pritty ruff aftercare will teach you the skills and give you the tools to lead a clean and sober lifestyle good luck to you and God bless....Gnarly

Great job on the taper/CT. I'm still on a small amt. of meth so I can't answer your question, but trading being on methadone for cold feet an sweaty armpits seem like a good deal!
