still only sleep 4 hours but it keeps getting better.
well it has been two and it is done.. so i am telling you differewnt.. i am about 90% the ten percent is mentally and getting my body in order.. everyone is different.. but i felt much better from the chills in about a week. two weeks ago from today was the last time i took suboxone.. a two mg tab.. so happy i went cold turkey and just said screw it.. i went down from 4 to 2mg then was only on 2mg for 3 days.. just felt shittie.. now i am living the high life but without drugs.. i am sooo damn happy.. it ******* ROCKS!!!!!!!
About 6 weeks or so. Dont let anyone tell you different.
oh and i forgot if i said this but the reason i have a cold(which is almost gone) was b/c i went down rapidly at the end and my immune system was shot.. plus while on opiates i smoked a lot more so my lungs didn't feel too hot the first day.. and they are getting better day by dday!!!
update on day 5.. woke up colder than yesterday... still hardly sleeeping.. losing about 2 pounds a day.. my left side has a small pain every couple minutes from coughing..
this is unreal.. i mean day 5 my serum levels should be getting back to normal and i do feel better.. but for some reason i don't feel that good until i take a shower.. which i almost passed out in from the hot water.. i had to sit for a couple minutes when i got out.. hey at least i am warmer now!!! i hope it lasts longer than yesterday which was till about 6pm.. then i started getting pretty cold.. and was colder when i woke up.. plus my digestive system is in shock.. b/c i have only had a bowl of soup with some bread the first 3 days then if you can believe it.. a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwhich on white bread the last 2 days.. and yesterday i only ate half... i got hungry around midnight but did not eat... still only got 3-4 hours of sleep.. I can't wait for all this to pass. i hate feeling this way.. can't believe with all the technology out there we don't have a better answer for withdrawal symptoms. good luck everybody.. hang tight it gets better.
docs suck.. well not all but alot of them.. i guess they want to keep people on suboxone... there is no reason to be on it for 5-7 years... that is crazy.... i felt like **** when i went down to 2mg so i said screw this and went cold turkey on day 3 with the 2mg... i went against my doc.. he said don't go past the 4mg till i see you in a month.. well one week after that visit i went down to 2mg.. then like i said quit... i never have cravings for pain pills just to get rid of the withdrawal symptoms.. i guess i am lucky there.. since i wrote that post i feel a TON BETTER!!!!!! so do the math i quit saturday and by tuesday i feel 50% better in the chill zone so to speak.. i imagine by saturday i will be 100% physically... maybe another week to a month mentally... what is killing me now besides my back is yes i still get cold but i can't sleep. i slept like 2 hours each of the past 4 nights.. yesterday around 12am i started feeling better.. still feel like **** but but the worst is deffinitely over... see the problem is 5-hpt(l-5-hydrpxy-tryptophan) doesn't work.. i have more intense dreams but that stuff never helped me sleep.. same with NyQuil and so on and that stuff is terrible for you..funny saying that coming off opiates for 3+ years.. i heard a small ammount of childrens clariten works b/c it has an antihistamine.. which makes you a lil drousy.. but again thaty stuff just makes me more alert.. ity has like an opposite effect.. same with coffee i could sleep after 8 shots of espresso.. no problem.. pot helps the most. by far... but i still don't get the effects i used to.. i think saturday was the first day i didn't smoke in 10 years.. our stupid government needs to get off there *** and make it legal for medical use at the least.. screw the tobacco and pharmaceutical industries.. it is absurd esp since opiates and alcohol and cigarettes do far worse damage to the brain and body.. just funny how the Psychologist who went before congress in the 30's to make pot illigal said the number one reason was"it makes white women want to have sex with degenerative races" i mean do you believe a medical doc even if it was in the late thirties would say that to congress and get away with it? and b/c of that it is still illegal..i mean what a joke..esp with all the people suffering.
ok back on track from my rant..
with withdrawal symptoms everyone is different and age is a HUGE factor..being in my 20's i am way way way better off than if i was 50 or 60..it takes much longer for the brain to return to normal the older you get.. i am positive that by thurs or sat the latest i will be 100% physically.. hell i am wearing jeans and a 2 short sleeve shirts now.. and i am going to go eat..so i am not that bad..my advise to anyone on suboxone get off it asap.. my doc is gonna be shocked when i see him in two weeks that i am free from hell.. you just have to be strong... another thing.. try to do emotional things..like listen to music that makes you happy.. the more complicated the better.. it works wonders for me!!!! it helps activate parts of the brain..
i gtg eat.. thx god i feel better... can't wait till the weekend.. Thx everyone for the support.. it's all down hill from here..
Just keep in mind that the chills will eventually GO, and how GOOD you are going to feel when they end!! Thats whats helping me right now, its the only thing getting my mind off of it......how lovely the air will feel when this is over. because right now it doesnt feel good at all....but I know thats temporary. You must psyche yourself into knowing that this is TEMPORARY.
Chills are an ugly part of all opiate addictions. Hence the name cold turkey. I took a hot water bottle to bed and an electric heating pad. These will pass. I know not soon enough for you but they will I don't really know of anything to stop them but time. I hope things get better quick and you feel better. Sorry you had to go through this. Corey
I would think tomorrow would be worst day- while i was coming off subs day 4 and 5 were the worst for me... day 4 the chills went down but RLS and achy joints went up- day 5 was low energy-
are you taking any vitamins? i wonder if your just actually sick while you are withdrawing- although i sneezed a lot i didn;t cough or have a tickle in my throat- nor did i ever have a stuffy nose... hmm -maybe someone else has something to say about all that.
good luck and stay strong
