how long?

I am off of Lortab 7.5 3times a day for several years. A recent surgery has eliminated my pain.  I have weaned off slowly for 3 weeks.  off completely for 6 days.  I still have bad headaches and sick stomach and fatigue and depression. none of the other awful withdrawal symptom's.  does this sound correct?  if I feel this bad without those other symptom's - when will this end?

Hi and welcome to the forum.....as for a time line to feeling better it is different for everyone  we have a formula we use on the forum  it goes like this.....how long your on it???  how high a dose???? and your age will all factor in...age is a big factor the 20/somethings recover a lot quicker then someone in there 40s or 50s  just know you will recover and congrats on 7 days now...the 2 biggys for me where the inability to sleep and the '''energy crash''  that took a wile  but hang in there you will recover....now is the time to put some sort of aftercare in place  for me the N/A progam has been the magic bullet  it is free  the meetings are only a hour long and it treats the addict in your head something that will not just go away on its own...long after the pills stop the old addictive behaviors come out in different ways the obsession's the compulsions and of coerce the..''I want it and want it now'' attitude  N/a treats the addict  one addict helping another is a practical solution to this... google a N/A meeting near you and go....keep posting here for support

Hi Fannyrae and welcome to the forum~
6 days.....GOOD FOR YOU!!!!  You should start feeling better in the next few days...maybe not ALL those symptoms will go away at once, but gradually some of them will.  The first 14 days (2 weeks) are the worst physically, imo.  Your neurotransmitters in your brain are used to having a synthetic opiate covering them and now they feel like the bandaides have all been ripped off.  It will take a little while for them to heal and for you to start making your own endorphins (nature's natural opiate).  Things that will help are:  music, exercise, sunshine, chocolate, sex, laughter, etc.  I just now read that the scent of vanilla helps reduce anxiety, which is often associated with depression.  Lavender too. (it helps with sleep).  Make sure you are drinking lots of water.  I'm SO jazzed that your surgery eliminated your pain.  I haven't been as fortunate.  I'm now trying acupuncture myself.
The fatigue and depression hang on the longest for me.  If you have loose stools, Imodium or Pepto Bismol will help.  Try some OTC pain relievers and see if they help.  More water may help those headaches.
Let us know how you are doing, ok?  Good for you on getting off narcotic pain meds!!!!
