how to offer oxy detox support

my boyfriend was addicted to oxy for around 8 years, has detoxed a few times, been to rehab, that sorta thing. i thought he had been clean for awhile until the lies started, money missing, and then it was obvious what was going on. he finally admitted he had a problem and needed my help. he refuses to go to a clinic, he wants to do things on his own terms with me by his side to help. as a supporter, what can i do to make things easier for him? i know what physical symptoms he will go through... but what can i do to make things at home more comfortable and tolerant for him? i know he will be irritable so i dont want to over do things... or get in his way too much. what sort of foods should i feed him, drinks? i heard baths were good, anything i can add to that to help? any information or advice of what could make this whole experience for the both of us more comfortable would be greatly appreciated.

Good luck with this. He has been thru it before so he knows what to expect. You should ask him what he needs you to do for him. Keep him hydrated, give him protein and try to get food in him if possable. If you have a hot tub it will come in handy or hot baths. He will not get much sleep so any time you can spend with him during the nite helps a bunch. Most important things are to make sure there are no pills in the house and make sure he has no company coming over. Dont let him convince you that another drug will help him get thru his withdrawals. Then the aftercare will be very important as it seems he hasnt got control over his addiction yet. Mite be a good idea to hit some na meetings now.
