husband had massive heart attack after shooting up crank

My husband had a heart attack in April of this past year.  He has been addicted to crank for 13 years.  He died last week of atherosclerosis cardiovascular disease, at the age of 34.  I know that the drugs infulenced his death, but I would like to know if it was the sole cause of death or if he would have died whether shoooting up or not.  I am pretty sure that I saw his heart explode while I was trying to give him cpr.  He was turning blue and every time I gave him breath his color came back.  What is this caused from?  He was also making sounds when he would release the breath that I gave him.  To my knowledge, he never regained conciousness...but his eyes were open the whole time.  I am just trying to find answers to help me understand what exactly happened.  Any information you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

yes i realize im a little late but oh well. im only 13 years of age and i feel crappy cause i just got my 13 year-old shots. whatever. but everyone on my grandpaws side have died of massive heart attacks. and my grandmaws side is cancer and strokes. and im sooo scared of dying that way cause its PAINFUL. i dont think anyone in our family has just died cause they were old and their body was just too weak. everyone had to be in pain. im not sure wat happens wen u have a massive heart attack but i hav a theory. my theory is that the arteries that pump the blood back out to your body get clogged up and the blood gets trapped in your heart and builds up untill it gets to be to much and your heart explodes. crazy, but thats just me. sorry i was so late but i was 4 wen u put the story out. and im just getting curious cause i want to be as careful as possible and be healthy and not die in the most painfull way imaginable. im learning how to prevent heart attacks all together. it helps!

hi danielle!!  My name is Kara.  First of all I am 23 years old.  I have been clean from crank for 3 years and 12 days now.  I also used to shoot up crank.  My husband is going to be 39 years old in August, and when he was just barely 30, he had a disease called endocarditis, which almost killed him.  What it did was basically ate up his aortic valve in his heart, so he had to have open heart surgery and have a aortic valve replacement.  He is well now, thank god.  Oh yeah and the disease wasn't really a disease i meant to say infection, but you know crank is a more powerfull drug than what alot of people realize.  If you really think about what crank really does to you, it makes you wired because it is speed.  Well speed, it speeds up your heart, which if your heart goes to fast you will have a heart attack.  Or even strokes are possible!!!  And you know it is such a tragedy about your husband!!!  Oh yeah and I just wanted to let you know that most of the time when people die, unless they die in their sleep, they will die with their eyes open.  I dont know why that doctor didn't tell you that!!  When my aunt died, she died with her eyes wide open, and not to freak you or anyone else out, but we kept on trying to shut her eyes, but they kept on opening, and she was not alive!!
