I get migraines too and I also have a whole host of things wrong with my back. I don't take pain medication. Unless I am in a car accident or the pain is so bad that I would rather DIE than feel it for one more second, I will NOT take them. Believe me, I know how bad migraines can get. I can't focus, or watch TV because it hurts. I get sick to my stomach and everything hurts, like there's a little man inside my head tying to slam his way out with a seldge hammer. I can't talk, everything is too bright and any sort of noise throws me over the e dge. BUT there are other ways of coping.
Fiirst, try and find a pain management center. They can teach you mind exercises like biofeedback to help ease the pain. Secondly, I SWEAR by either exedrin migraine or head on, a nice dark quiet room and ice, lots of ice. Prescription strength aleve (naprosyn or naproxen) works too. There's something called immotrex that works and something called asgric (I think ). Talk to your dr about it.
Get some tests done if they are happening a lot. It oculd be your sinuses too. I sometimes confuse the 2. If that's the case, try taking an anti-histamine first to see if that alleviates any of the pain.
Good luck with whatever you decide and I hope the migraine goes away.
I once had it for about 4 days straight so I totally feel your pain!!.
for me. he did write me script for elavil to take at night, said that would help keep the headaches away. i never filled it tho.
