You can quit if you really want it!!! Stay strong!!!! And then start saying I can quit. Good luck!!! :-) :-) :-) :-)
Hi, again, I agree w/ everything above and I wanted to say that when you are withdrawing you are supposed to feel depressed. And angry, And anxious. Expect those feelings. You've been numbing your feelings so now they are coming out. You gotta let em.
Also, you said you are afraid you will cave. I understand that, but if you don't have access to pills, you won't cave. That's why we gotta cut out sources.
Keep posting. So many of us have been where you are and more peeps are going thru it now.
Hi and welcome. You say you can't quit, but you can, and you have every reason and motivation in the world to do so. Your family, your health, and your life are worth far more than those pills. You can do this. Start by cutting out any and all sources for pills. It sounds like you have spoken to your doctor and hopefully you will get into a good outpatient program. Your life will be so much better without this burden that you carry every day. Stay committed and focused. Keep posting here with any questions and for support. I wish you all the best! Take care.
If the depression is really bad you also could talk to your Doc....call him since you just saw him...and see if he/she will put you on a low dose anti-depressant.
The B vitamins is what helped me plus listening to music and watching comedy. The depression and anxiety kind of goes with the territory but there is a light at the end of the tunnel...it doesn't last forever.
Thanks what would u recommend for the depression it feels like my world's crashing around me
If Thomas Recipe doesn't show for you at the bottom of the page use the search bar at the top of the MH page.
There is no easy way to withdraw. There are some things that will help ease the symptoms but you will have no energy, won't want to eat, won't want to drink....you can always tell work you have the flu.
Look at the bottom of the page for Thomas Recipe.
Some additional things that helped me were:
Hot Bath with epsom salts (I took a LOT of them)
B-12 (to help with energy)
Super B Complex
Immodium (A Must)
Hylands Restless Leg tablets
If you have something for anxiety great if not try valerian or check at your local GNC for something natural for anxiety and also for sleep.
What is really, really important is to hydrate. You will feel tons worse if you don't. Water, Gatorade. Try to eat a little something...even if you don't feel like it. Even if it is only a bite or two it is important to feed your body.
Come back here as often as you want. Lots of others will chime in with suggestions and support. We can help and support you while you withdraw but afterwards you really have to look for good aftercare NA meetings, church, whatever works best for you.
You CAN do this. I was on Oxy for 10 years and I'm now 31 days clean. I just went through a really, really painful disease diagnosis and managed to survive without a pill. You gotta really want to do this.
Expect to be tired for a few weeks, expect nausea, expect chills, sweats, legs kicking and very little sleep for the first few days. If you have to work you may feel like doggie do but it probably will be the best thing because it will make the days go faster which is preferable to laying around and wallowing in the misery.
Go shopping and get all things listed in the recipe and the items I've listed. It will help ease the symptoms.
Good Luck!
Yes I went to doc earlier today he is trying to get me into a outpatient program which I've never done I went cold turkey on the coke I can't quit working so impatient is outta the question but what can I do to easy my with draws until I get into this program I'm afraid I'm gonna chicken out and start back up before I go
Hi. Welcome. So you know the detox drill, right? So, your question is how do you STAY clean? This is a broken record but we cannot do it w/o aftercare. We just can't. Also, we have to cut out ALL access to pills. Did you cut your sources? (dr, dentist, dealers etc.)
