i did the right thing... right? ='(

i did the right thing... right? ='(

as maybe some of you remember, i quit heroin on the 12th of last month (i stopped counting days after a month went by, weeee!)

But all my friends were still on it.
My best friend had started 3 days before I quit.
And since I quit I hadnt seen her at all.
So, I work with her aunt and i decided to speak up. I didnt really know the extent to which my friend, was doing heroin but I know the people she was hanging around with...so...
I told her aunt. Her aunt and i talked long and hard about it. so her aunt dropped by her apartment randomly to check on her, and of course she had a bunch of junkies over. so her aunt left and went to get my friends mom and step dad. well basically they showed back up and kicked all the people out and my friend was crying and screaming at them and they basically forced her to go with her parents to their house. they went through her apartment and found all the drugs, (i later called one of the guys who was over there and talked to him about it and found out she had been selling up to 8 grams a day of heroin...) so they are forcing her to withdraw, they took her phone and her car and are breaking the lease to her apartment i guess until she gets better.

she is so pissed at me and i feel like such a narc but im really glad i did it at the same time. im so scared she will never forgive me. but i did the right thing, right? i feel horrible right now. i cant stop crying. i hope that this makes her get better and off the stuff. ever since i regained my sobriety my life has done a 180. i wanted the same for her but now she says she will never speak to me again. did i do the right thing? what else could i have done? at any rate, losing her friendship this way is better than losing it by her ODing with a bunch of losers who dont love her like i do. :(

yes, you did do the right thing in my opinion.  sometimes when we are strung out we dont see our lives as out if control...now she can get through w/ds n have a chance at sobriety...if she goes back, the its on her....

I agree with Cathy you were true to a friend in your heart... It dose not mean she will stay clean as the element of desire needs to be in place.. Selling it she wasn't hurting yet so she may go back but as Cathy said it will be on her...

You did the only thing a true friend could do. You put your friend's life first, if she died you would have truly lost your friend forever. I think you did a wonderful thing and one day when she is clean she will thank you and like Cathy said if she goes back to that lifestyle you will know that you have done everything you could have done.
