i dont know what to do

i have been taking sub...32 mg a day and i have no insurance so i cant afford my dr visits and now i am being cut off. i was down to 16 mg a day and started freaking out about the wd from it...so like a true addict i got a bunch of perks and oxys to help. when they ran out i still had 2 subs left so i broke them up as small as i could to try and detox from the pills. it didnt work. so now i am detoxing from both and am waiting to go to detox. i have no idea what to do. i dont want to stop taking the sub but i dont want to be a slave to anymore drugs....just venting.  i feel like death right now so if what i said doesnt make sence im sorry.

Im sorry to hear of your situation.  There is a rule allowing ANY doctor to prescribe suboxone in emergent situations for 3 days.  It is known as the 3 Day rule.  If you go to the ER, the docs there should at least be able to get you a 3 day supply.

You can also call Reckitt Benckiser the manufacturer of suboxone.  They have a hotline called the "Here to help" program. Im not sure what all they can do, but I know they have helped several members on Buprenorphine on another board I post on.  Their number is 1-866-956-9204

Or you can head over to NAABT.org  That is the National Alliance and Advocates for Buprenorphine Treatment. There is a ton of info over there, and that site can help you find a doctor that may be able to work with your situation.

There is now a generic form of Subutex available at a much lower cost than name brand suboxone. IS there any way for your doc to write a script for generic subutex?

I agree with Vicki that 16mgs of sub is way too high to CT from. It can be done without much risk, but the wd's will be horrendous!

Hang in there!

I'm not sure what they'll do.You don't have to do anything you don't want.  They'll check you out and perhaps give you some more meds so you don't go into any bad withdrawals.  Every ER has it's own protocol for this.  Sometimes they admit you for detox.

Go to the ER and tell them your story and what you've taken in the last few weeks...
They have to help you.  16mgs is too high a dose to come off of...
