if im an alcoholic, do i have to stop drinking altogether

i am an alcoholic, i know this but when it comes down to it does that mean i can never have a drink again?

If you cant stop after your first, or if you quit for a while, and all it takes is 1 drink and then you back to your same pattern...then I must say, it's not possible.

I myself quit 4-1/2 years ago, I was a chronic alcoholic, to the point of death...I tried everything there was in the book to keep drinking and keep it under control. Long story short..I lost my house, girlfriend, dog etc...

Alcohol is one of the biggest mind playing game, addictions.

That's a great question.

Let me answer that to the best of my knowing.

I like the feeling of when I'm drunk, Do i drink every night? yes, do I have a job? Yes, do i steal to get my booze? No, do i let it get in the way of my family NO? can i go without a drink for a weeks time? Yes.

Well, here it is:

You can have another drink if you can handle it. If you limit your drinking to a couple in the evening, some people might read this and say WHAT! no!

They'd be like my mother, who thinks if you have any ADDICTION, drinking or not, that you will not be able to have a drink ever.
Well, I don't think it's true at all, as long as you don't let it interfere with your family,Job or your income, you'd be okay.


Just get a cheap case of beer, and drink a few beers (two) at night, and just hang out with friends, not people who will want you to drink more, but people who you trust, and people who won't drink more then you can handle.

-Again, I'm not an alcoholic, but I don't really believe anyone is, you just need to cut back and limit them, if you can do that, then you can enjoy the feeling more, Plus try wine, it's good for you. And it gives you that feeling sooner, and can make you healthyier,

again don't drink to much!

If u r an alcoholic u can not drink again unless u want to do further damage...I am a narc head and I cant take pills for the same reason
