I'm addicted to oxycodone. I think that's how it's spelled. I need to get off this on my own, because I have no time or funds to get into any kind of program. I wish I was Brittany Spears, who on the other hand has so much money that she can get help and won't.

On the other hand I do have the money to buy the pills, so I have to give that some thought.

Any suggestions-----I live in So Florida

Hi Dove, I point i want to make is as addicts,me included,hear these stories of the horrible withdrawl affects of coming off perks methadone,oxycontin , fentinayl patches etc.The biggie that scars the **** out of most people is the media version of the withdrawing Heroin addict.In my opinion at times we psyche our-selves out and that paranoia of extreme withdrawl symptoms keep us from a safe and relatively milder form of detox   Dove it is my experince that we got addicted/dependant I.E. addicted. Addiction means to ADD -ON,EXample I at one time got off on 3 perks at once and felt good for most of the day,this lasted for Years,No ****.No pain no anziety,good appetite and agood sex drive. Both me and my EX girlfriend loved it.today I pope8-10 when i get my script and dont relive the glory days.I started in1990 or so, its 2007. my point is tapering in my case was better than the torture of cold turkey, Also a mrthadone short term, say 1month is also a good way to break the back of the addiction.All the best johnnykelly

I think,but not sure I'm on 20mg and take about 5-7 a day. I find it hard to get up if I don't have them and I also get depressed. I don't feel like doing anything if I'm not on them. At the risk of you thinking badly of me I crush them and snort them, I have never injected them. I'm a real junkie. When I was given a rx for xanax and stopped taking them I had a seizure. I think if I stopped cold turkey with these I will have another.

community mental health center my dear.  free programs abound.  thats how i'm doing it.  if you are indigent there is medicaid.  dont be lazy darling, look these programs up, or walk into an e.r. in a dire state, i took 600mg ambien plus bottle of xanax, and cut myself up.  dont do that, but if you are sick, they have to take you, and the hospital social worker will set you up with free aftercare. god bless!  there are resources.  google it.  god bless, s.l.

What dosage?  How many per day?  I'm just trying to thumb up what your withdrawls may or may not be if you went cold turkey.  In a lot of cases (mine being one of them) after the 4th day you'll start to be feeling pretty good.  I was taking 5-6 (10mg) pills in a day and had moderate withdrawls but here I am today on day 4 without them and I feel great.  Of course my back hurts like you know what but as far as withdrawls I'm fine.  You will go through a rough first 3-4 days but if you really want to quit you'll just have to go through it.  Any more information you can give us?
