inpatient detox

I am new to this forum.  I have been using oxy intravenously for 3 months now.  I got out of rehab and only made it one month before I went back.  My life """"ks!  I have hurt my parents physically and financially.  They paid everything they had to put me through rehab and here I am back again.  I have no money, no job and don't know where to turn.  I am in my early 20s and want my life back.  I was an athelete and had tons of friends.  I lost my college scholarship and most of my friends because of this.  I need to detox again but my parents can't pay for it and I don't think that I can do it CT.  I NEED HELP!

I am sorry that you relapsed but you know the drill. You did not stay away from people, places and things and you did not follow up with aftercare.

You need help and since you are considered an adult you may be able to get it through the state where you live. You need to get it together hun or you will die from this. You are somehow finding money to buy a very expensive drug so you must be getting the money somehow. Turn that around.

I have been where you are too many times. I was lucky enough to make it but that may not be your case and that scares me.

Please make some phone calls in the morning and find out about getting assistance for a 5 day detox where they will assist you and then look into aftercare.

I hope the next time we hear from you, it will be good news.

A lot of the time it comes down to just being ready. You wont die from c/t opiate detox, you will just be pretty sick for about 4 or 5 days. The desire to quit has to be stronger than the desire to use, and for me, I had to work the steps of NA to keep that desire. Detoxing is hard, but staying sober is harder if you dont get aftercare. We've been in your shoes, we felt your pain. Your story sounds a lot like mine, check out my post about being a year clean, I put most of my story out there for people like us to see that there is hope! We just have to follow the suggestions people give us to make a new life because we have proven we cant run our lives on willpower alone. Keep posting, there is some great support in the forum. Good luck!

You are in VA - The Coleman Institute has a 3 day detox for opiates, but I don't know what kind of program they could offer you - worth a call though.  I went through a detox with them nearly a year ago.  The positive thing about their detox is that they use a Naltrexone implant to prevent relapse - which could be of benefit for you.  I personally don't know of other options available in our state, but I am sure there are options.  Best of luck to you.

I read your post and I believe you CAN overcome this.  You will have to take it a day at a time and just keep putting one foot in front of the other.  Don't listen to the negative voices that try to drag you down.  You know the real you, and you can get that person back.  You will then probably get your friends back and the trust of your family and those you love.  I've been through this addiction too,  It's a long road, every day's a battle, but you CAN do it!  You've obviously been successful at other things, you can be successful here too.  You CAN be normal again, believe it or not.  Have faith in God, He will not forsake you.  If you really, truly want your old life back, you will do whatever it takes to get it.  Fight for what you want, for what you ARE...the real you is not a drug addict, the real you is a successful, athletic person with loving friends and family.  And you can be the real you, put your faith in God, pray about it, seek out treatment centers, and stay focused on where you want to be in a year.  Becaause in one year, this can all be behind you.  There is help out there, call your local Dept. of Human Services, your hospital, treatment facilities, churches, and look online.  There is help and support out there.  Some people have to do this with no family at all, at least you have that, and they love you and want you to get better and get yourself back.  Not everyone succeeds the first time, so don't be too down on yourself.  Get up, dust yourself off and try again, you can do this.  And don't listen to those people who wait for you to fall so they can point and say, "see, I knew you couldn't do it".  DO NOT LISTEN TO THEM!  They are not important, YOU are.  Surround yourself with positive people, read up on addiction, self-help books, the Bible, positive, uplifting things.  Be strong and know that you can do this.  I wish you all the best in your journey.  Keep posting and let us know how you are doing.  I will pray for you, I know you can do this.  Keep your chin up, stay focused on your goal, and let us know how you're doing.  We, too, will support you.  Take care and God Bless!  =)
