If I read correctly, we're not supposed to play doctor on here.  But if it's ok, I will suggest Benedryl or Sominex.  Diphenhydramine (sp) is safe to take from what I understand.  Both medications are diphenhydramine.  But the Sominex is double the strength of one Benedryl.

Hope my suggestion is ok.  It's not a prescription med so I thought this might help.  It does help me on occasion.  Good luck

The diphenhydramine helped me a lot - - I used it in conjunction with melatonin and had pretty good success................A warm shower also helps before bed....

Melatonin is all natural and some people find good relief with it.  One brand, called Sundown, has a Super Snooze Melatonin.  It adds in other natural things, like chamomille, that also help with sleep.   I have found it to work pretty well.  Also, Alteril is another all-natural sleep aid that combines several all-natural things.  I find that to work really well.  (But the Alteril I find to be more expensive overall.  With the Sundown Super Snooze Melatonin, you get more for your money, and you can often find buy one get one free or get one half off.

@yabby619.. oh I know the feeling oh so well :(... There is no better sleep then to be on 100 pills of opiates sadly, but coming off a severe norco addiction the only thing that worked for me is to do an hour of cardio before bed and take melatonin with milk thistle. Great combo.

I've considered the melatonin myself.  But I had a bad experience taking Valerian root while on my head meds.  I can just ask my Dr. but I'm curious if you know of folks who take this, while on head meds, without trouble?
