is it safe to take Lorazepan for anxiety while detoxing off oxy?

My doctor has prescribed Lorazepan for me for anxiety that I use very infrequently - usually at work if I need to give a presentation or at meetings etc.  Is it safe to use this or will it help with the anxiety and jitters from oxy withdrawals?

also, no one seems to be mentioning the constant headaches - is this only me or are there other with this symptom too.  No amount of Tylenol is helping and my guess is because my body is used to such a higher dose of pain killer - 120mg/day of oxy.  Is this true?  If so, any other ideas of what could possilby help?

The headaches are very common and will go away.  I found really nothing that would help so i just rode it out.  That wasnt very helpful was it!!

My Dr. gave me that as well but I only used it for a few days because I was getting severe panic attacks. As soon as I stopped the panic attacks I stopped the Lorazepan. Each person is different in what they can handle. She only gave it to me for 7 days but like I said I only took it for a few days then I didn't need it. Hope this helps a little :)

I don't like Lorazepam. I've been taking it since July 5 for anxiety....I just went cold turkey from vicodin sixteen days ago and thought I could just stop taking the lorazepam too...yeah right. I had even worse withdrawals from the lorazepam. Now I have to taper off them and I hate the way they make me feel. I didn't notice their effects while I was on vicodin and I wasn't educated on benzos at all. I've now learned that stopping cold turkey can cause a seizure. Ick. Be careful with those benzos-try not to take them at all if you can. Go get some Hylands Calms Forte at wal mart or walgreens, it is very effective for anxiety and it is all natural. Good luck!
