Have your wife watch a couple episodes of "intervention" the ones about opiates and pain pills. Then maybe she will see it's not easy too get off them and it can happen to anybody. I know it's hard but try not to Dwell on what happened in the past just fix it so you can have a future. It might sound cliche but it really is true "one day at a time" or minute at a time during withdrawals. I'm not an aa guy but you kind of have to think that way. I'm 37 and I felt I just had to man up and quit the drugs and stop letting something run my life. It was a bad decision in the first place to start taking the meds but I think after the whole process of it all I am a stronger better person after quitting. I feel more confident that I can beat anything if ya know what I mean. Keep posting, I'll keep up with ya. See ya..
Man our situation was(is) similar. I kept it a total secret as well. No one knew except some of my buddies. Only one knew how much I was realty taking. When I came clean to wife and parents it was a huge weight off my shoulders even though my wife was furious. It still makes her angry when she thinks about all the lying and I'm slowly gaining her trust back. But now that I'm off the pills I'm different. I'm not so moody, I spend more time with the family, I don't want to be alone all the time like before, and I have a sex drive again. She thought I didn't love her anymore but now I realize how much I missed her and my old life again. There are do many positives too getting off the pills. You'll see eventually, it will take some time but I promise you it will be a better life. Check ya later my friend..
you are helping me more then you will ever know. my wife is just mad at me for getting hooked in the first place and she thinks its easy to stop. i have no one to ttalk to about this because i have kept it a secret from my friends and family. thank you guys soo much.
Possibly the one you decide in your mind will be the worst...and the one you decide will be the best, will most likely be the best
good luck to u
Your lucky that u got 5 hours sleep. I took a couple Xanax. They didn't help me I don't like em. I do smoke weed but during wds it gave me anxiety. Made me think too much. Just be careful about replacing the meds with other stuff. I found that if when I just stayed completely sober for a couple weeks it just made me get better, I know a lot of people on this site disagree with the weed thing and I totally respect that. It helps me with my pain and insomnia and I have always felt strongly about legalization and the whole medical aspect of it. It's a natural plant and I think it has it's benefits for some. But enough about that, just stay strong and get through those first few days and you will see that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I feel so Much better now. Not being chained to the pills..
also what can i do for my back and leg pain? its driving me crazy!
so is the detox over after all the meds are out of your system?
i know some folks smoke weed whilst detoxing, but you need to get the meds totally out of you, and get your brain producing endorphines, and seratonin naturally, so its best not to do it, all the best.
i wont. only a couple days to help with sleep. also i know you guys here probably arent for it but does weed help? i got some ganja i was gonna try it out.
xanax may help you a bit, but please be careful, its addictive, and shouldnt be used without care, also dont use it for long,
wow u got back to me quick thaks
last night i slept a little probably for 5 hours i got some xanax. do u think that will help with the withdrawls?
hi, i found day 4 the wosrt, as baker says it varies from person to person, have a look at the health pages, top right hand corner of page, there are a good few things that can help you through it, try and be positive and keep posting, let us know how your doing, best wishes and god bless.
It varies for everyone. Most likely it will get a little worse over the next couple days. You should be past the peak of withdrawals on day 4 or 5. You'll probably have trouble sleeping for a couple weeks. You weren't taking them for that long but it is a high dose. Just read the posts you'll leRn a lot about things that can ease the withdrawals( a little bit). Good luck.
