is their a medication comparable to Duragesic patches? I want off the patches, but I need to know what medication is comparable to it (cheaper and by mouth), does anyone know? I need the name of one to recommend to my Dr. I am tired of applying patches

Does anyone know of a medication that I can substitute for the Duragesic patches?  I've been on 200mcg for over 2 yrs---I apply them every 2 days.  I hear that is a high dose!  I want off the patches---I am sick of them and want to just take something by mouth that works about the same and something that will be close to the Duragesic so I won't go thru withdrawls.  I was wondering about MS Contin?  If anyone knows (DR's or other people who have gone thru this) please let me know.  Going totally OFF all opiates is NOT an option for me at this time.  I am facing another total knee replacement---and will need the help of pain meds.  Dr's don't seem to be very helpful when it comes to medication (strange, I know!)  so if I do the research and tell my Doc about a medication----he may be willing to change it for me.  
Thank you very much.  Also, I sweat all the time!  Has anyone been on Duragesic patches and is "sweating" a side effect?   I read about it and it says yes.

no your in the right place, i don't know no one resonded to u. i hear your deperation. i have mnay medical pain problems myself . i was freaking out like you. i was taking 3 viic es every 4 hours a day for years and got knows what my liver is like now. i went to a new pm doc and he didn't like vicodin so he put me on opana er, then 6omg of oxycontin, then from late may to mid july......i went from 75mcg to 150mcg. I kept having to up it because my tolerance wanted more and more. my body was probably accicted and i have a depence on it. after 2 weeks on any pain med that happens. well i couldn't take anymore b/c you can only go so high on pain meds and then they don't work anymore. fentanyl is the worse drug ever. i didn't realize that ti'll i detoxed and felt like i was dying. its a very nasty drug. its half - life is 17 hours....2x the amount of herion and 80 times stronger than morphine. oh and do not take methadone b/c you will be in real big trouble. its the worsy drug next to the fentanyl patch. i was scared about my pain after and the withdrawals. i detoxed 2 weeks ago and still feel like hell. you need to talk to a pain specialist ...a good one. private message me if you need more questions.

I am  answering this myself.  I am sorry everyone, I believe I posted this question on the wrong topic area.  As I said, I am new here....and I didn't realize I was in the "addition" place.  I posted my question in another area.  If nobody can help me, that's ok.  If so, thank you.
