i don't know what your doc gave you but there's generally 2 classes of sleeping drugs: sleep hypnotics (ambien, lunesta, etc.) and the benzo's (valium, klonopin, etc.) the former does not address anxiety, obviously the latter does. ideally, get yerself both and sleep like a baby, but i think the benzo's are your best bet right now if you can only get one.
sorry if this pisses anyone off, but EVERYTHING is tougher without sleep - and in this situation it's almost asking too much. a bad joke. to be in an even weaker state when you're coming off drugs.
also, if you have a whole foods around you, there's a thing "deep sleep" - it comes in a liquid (drops) form. it's pretty good (and herbal.)
i'm not going to say "you gotta sleep!" because when people would say that to me, i wanted to punch them in their face.. "oh - ya think?" but i would only say try everything you can, ask the doc for more/different stuff if ya can - try any stone left unturned if there's an option... because i do know firsthand how much worse that makes everything in life when you are sleep deprived...
good luck, sister...
