just starting day four and I wanna die

just starting day four and I wanna die

I just started day four of withdrawal from codeine, the first two and half were hell, slept thru some it, last night I actually felt pretty good except for my stomach, then, I tried to go to bed, omg, it was living hell, I still have not slept and it'll be twenty four hours in a few more, my legs are killing me, twitching, hurting, crawling, I have insomnia, I have a dull headache and yawn all the time but I cannot sleep, I read on one site today that these symptoms can last up to a year, PLEASE SOMEBODY TELL ME THAT IT WONT.......I was taking two hundred mg, sometimes twenty or thirty more a day for about six years, last night I thought I was gonna make it, tonight I am not so sure, I really am scared I am going to give in to get relief, I take multiple vitamins, always have, drink lots of fluids, anybody with any advice please please please post.......I am at my wits end here......

Hang in there, I'm just over 2 weeks in and feeling much better all things considered. No, it won't be a year. You'll see remarkable improvement early on. Day 4 was my hardest..you'll turn the corner soon and it'll get better each day. Stay strong!! It WILL get better. Stay well hydrated and when u can go for a walk. Walking did wonders for me even tho it was the last thing I wanted to do. In just a day or two you'll see the light believe me!! It's not easy I know but being free is so worth it.

The sleep will come.If you can get out and do a little exercise like a brisk walk or jog it will make you feel better. You are already 4 days in and don't want to give in now because you don't want to have to do this again. You just need to stick it out for one more day for right now

I felt like dying a week ago.  But the longer I was sick, the more I realized how many people needed me and how I couldn't leave them just because I was stupid and didn't go through the hard times without overmedicating myself.  You can't check out!  I've been through withdrawals from  codine before.  I was drinking a couple of pints of liquid codine every two weeks.  It was tough because I was taking a lot, but "If you are going through Hell, just keep on going, eventually you'll get out!"  Many prayers for you.  Don't give up.  Not sure who is in your life, but God loves you,  and these people here seem to care.

The pain of your wd's will last a while but there is things you can do to help yourself sounds like you are having a time with wd's so drink plenty of fluids try to stay busy doing things walking bike riding working around your home.  If things don't get better then you need to see your health care provider tell him or her whats going on and let them make a decision you may need detox or a less potent drug to ween yourself down so you want feel so bad sometimes you have to do this when I was using I had to get help in order to get over the panic attacks and depression not to mention the anxiety I had.       you can do it.   one hour at a time. We are praying for you.

You are SO CLOSE to being past the worst of it...

Those first 4 days are your bodies screaming attempts to get more opiates. One or two more days and it'll give up and start the healing process.

Stay strong, you're almost there.

I'm on day 10 and climbing -- this week has had a lot more ups than downs compared to my first week. It was worth it.

You've come this far so keep fighting! What's next is much more bearable.
