My husband is leaving tonight for North Carolina. He is going for work he builds houses. We live in alabama.Im worried about him going because of his drug problem. He takes on average 20 lortabs daily. He doesnt have alot to take with him but is going to try to tapper off while he is there. Will be there for three weeks. He wants to quit but doesnt have much will power. If he has 5 pills he takes them. If he has 50 he takes them. Do yall think he will be ok to go that far away run out of drugs and then cold turkey??

This might be a good thing, It is going to make him face himself andhe will be fine im sure, Thats one thing that I would do is taper off the lower I got, He has to realize that if he takes allof them that the WD will be bad, Talk to him it might help let him know that you are worried and that most of all you love him, Hang in there!

Then having been the one in his place I have to say that maybe he needs that , If he is out  of town it probably wontbe easy to run get more and it might make himrealize what the problem is or even more importantly make him stop! good luck

If he is an addict he will find a way to get them there and if he doesn't he will when he come back unless he admits it's a problem and goes for help; therapy, NA meetings, etc.
We have all said we wouldn't do it again and then inevitably we do, we are addicts, that's what we do.  Geography is just that, geography.  Even is he doesn't manage to get them there, he will use when he gets back because he is an addict.  If he has a real and true deisre to be clean then he needs to do more than just not have any.
