looking for advice

my bf is going through heroin withdrawl. he has tried so much to medically withdraw and has failed everytime. he wants to do this as naturally as possible and be done with his dependence. we have been reading about activated charcoal along with supplements, he is concerned that if he takes it his withdrawl symptoms will get worse faster, is this going to happen if he takes it?

I'm not 100% sure but in general I know that activated charcoal gets shot of all the poisonous substances in the body I.e if someone overdoses that's what can be given to eleviate the toxins of the drug and stop it from killing the person. I learnt this when I worked at a pharmacy. BUT for detox I'm not sure u want this as firstly it's not an OD, and secondly u want the stuff to be tapered off naturally...I'm not sure but maybe look into this. It can help with tummy issues aswell. Sorry I'm not more help for u. Good luck xx

Well first off, being a supporter is wonderful, so congrats to you and your husband. I don't have experience with heroin, but I have taken several opiates for years and have quit cold turkey. I have been taking vitamins, supplements, staying hydrated as much as possible, I have quit before without these and i can tell you it didn't make my withdraws worst. They actually help. Stay positive. Maybe someone else can help with heroin experience. Congrats to both of you. Good luck.
