by sunshinegal76, Nov 03, 2009 10:17PM
Hi all,
I have been taking about 15 hydro 10/325 a day and I have 12 pills left, and about 3 weeks until I can call in for a refill. HELP! I am completely freaking out. I have xanax. Should I try to get an early refill and if so, how? I am terrified of going CT. Your support and advice is really appreciated, thank you. I am tempted to try to get more or face the withdrawals. I have kept trying to ween but obviously have failed so far...

Its gonna be hard to get a refill. I abused pain meds for years. Im a 45 yr ole man. Ive gone thru WD at home many times. You can do it! The xanax can help so can the thomas recipe. You can goggle it. You will feel bad for 3-4 days then it will get better. Maybe its time to get off them. At my high point id take 40 10mg loratabs a day. And detoxed at home. So you can do it!   Let me say ive never been able to taper, i always just ran out. Thats what an adict does. Sunshine your tolerence will only make you need more if you don't stop. Ill pray for you. Becareful with the Xanax (now thats a bad detox!) And keep in touch.

Tapering takes alot of self discipline.  Dig real deep inside yourself and figure out if this is how you want to live.  Your tolerance will go up and you will run out of meds quicker everytime.....There will never be a life time supply of pills.  This is about your life we are talking about......sara

I taken 4  today and I feel horrible. This **** is unreal people. I will be posting everyday, I only have 6 pills left and am going through horrific anxiety. I am also going to see my doc on Fri and am going to beg him to give me an early refill. Beyond that I don't know what to say to him. Afraid to say I have been abusing it and afraid not to. I have only been on this road for a year and I can't even see straight anymore. Just scared to death!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks so much for your replies, they are keeping me somewhat sane. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your love and support!!!!!!

Once again,

Just quit. Go cold turkey.  Don't switch drugs and just let your body and mind go through what it has to go through to get it out of your body.  There are 5 classes of drugs.  Only depressants are dangerous to withdraw from and it can kill you if not medically supervised.  Depressants include alcohol, barbiturates and anti anxiety drugs such as xanax, valium, serax, and others.

Spacing the fe pills u have left is not gonna help much..in fact it is gonna drag out ur misery as a rule...u r afraid of the physical wds...when in reality u should be afraid of doing this every month to urself..letting go is hard..but very do-able
flushing would be ideal but not sure u r in the place to do so..it is a control thing..when u let them swirl down the toilet, u take the control away from those puppies..cos right now they r controlling u...even if u flushed just one..or even a half of one..it would give u a sense of control..and perhaps help u with the work u need to do as far as letting go

sounds as if u have a dr rx-ing these to u..if u plan to stay clean then u need to et ur dr know u dont want them anymore...any remaining refills need to cancelled....not sure if u r posting due to fear or because u want to get off this merry go round..it only turns backward and never forward unless u get off of it...addiction doesnt improve..ever,,it is a chronic diseae that only gets worse with time...let us know what ur intentions r?

So I went to my Doc and explained that I had gone through all of them early and he gave me the early refill. And what is it, a week and a half later and I am almost out again. I am ashamed and embarrassed. I feel like ****. I was wondering if you guys had any experiences with Suboxone and what your withdrawals were like from Norco's. I have been on them for a year, started out slow but progressed to larger doses fast. Most recently I have been on 60-100 mg a day of the generic Norco's/Hydro's (does it matter what you call them?)

Thanks everybody out there for caring. Sending lots of love.
