thankyou it is very hard.my family is very mad and hurt with me because of the pills.im trying last night my girlfriends took me out to the movies it helped soo much.i have been a week total without any pills or any cough med.i was taking kloipin to help but ran out now im try every thing cold turkey.the anger is the hard part for me when i blow up at my family it hurts me so bad when i calm down im ok.my brother says he dont know what im going through but he does loveme my husband is just mad and he just dont understand.the worst is my son who is 6 he dont know why mommy hurts thats the worst.i love him the most he is so important to me and i just want to get better for him.this is hard for me to have let a pill control me there has been so much pain in my life this is the worst.i thought losing my dad was hard that is a different pain and i used the pills to cover my grief. what started the pills was me getting sick and they helped then surgery they helped more i had to have them to move now i cant .just keep me in your thoughts i do want to get well

Consider asking your doctor to prescribe you CLONIDINE HCL 0.1 MG Table 3x @ day.  While it was initiatelly created to treat high blood pressure, it is also used to control withdrawal symptons for alcoholics and drug users.  It may work for you.

Narkz offers a good idea to tapering. I did this before and it is not bad. I did exactly what he is saying about cutting pills in half and in half again and waiting as long as possible and taking just to hold off withdrawl. After a few days of this you can quit almost painlessly. However I don't think you have any left so you can't do this. The hot baths really help.

i have w/d'd tons of times from a chipper dose.  taper.  try to sleep a lot

whatever you do, do not substitute benzos for your narc addiction...they will be even worse.  the best thing to do is stay warm.  i am convinced turkey is the worst way to do it.  i have turkey'd one time and even for a chipper it totally sucked.  i felt suicidal for days, couldn't sleep, etc.  this is from a 30mg/day hydro habit.  i cannot even imagine if your dosages are actually high like some ppl taking 30 vikes or something daily.

the best bet is to taper, chop them in half and quarters and hold out as long as u can, then use a tiny amount just to edge off the w/d symptoms.  find things to do that occupy tons of time where you're not thinking, like sports or something.  and above all sleep.  if you have to borrow some valium or zanies to do it, do it.  just make sure you don't go over to those as a substitute.  sleeping 9hrs of w/d off is the best advice i can give, b/c u'll wake up feeling better.

u have to tell yourself, self if i don't hold off on this dose, the w/d is going to get worse.  wait until you can't take it, then have 1/4 of a pill.  save the rest b/c u will get those chills and aches again.  hopefully u'll fill ur day w/ stuff to do and the cravings will only hit u bad at one time and u can kill that w/ a 1/4.  but u have to remember that if u swallow ur final pills for a one-time buzz, u are going to pay for it in spades later.

Listen to hopsing - also look at lower right of page for the Thomas Recipe and the Amino Acid Protocol - they actually help and work. Keep posting with questions. You can do this...

First take a hot hot bath. You will feel a little better. Lots of fluids. You may need some immodium. Try reading a good book. Something that will occupy your mind so you don't think about the withdrawls. Think of this as nothing more than having the flu. The flu sucks and so do the withdrawls but you will live through it. You will be through the worst in about 3 more days. If you have xanax or valium use it. That will help alot with the anxiety and restlessness. There is not alot you can do to help but these few things do make it a little easier. The hard part comes after the withdrawls. Tell everybody you are sick with the flu and can't get out of bed.  No responsablities for the next three days. No kids,no hubby,no work, nothing if you can do it.
This will be worth it in the end. It took a long time to get where you are and it is gonna take some time to get normal again....   Don't get discouraged and stay positive. Your mind has the ability to overcome many many things. If you truly beieve its not that bad it won't be.. Trust me, convince yourself its just a bad cold and it will be over soon.
