loritab withdrawal

I am approaching the 48 hour mark of hydrocodone withdrawals. I feel the worst is behind me; I am definitely better today than yesterday.  I have taken the week off of work to do this.  When will I feel normal? Is the 3rd day worse or should I start feeling better and better?

Welcome, and kudos to you for taking the first step to getting your life back. Everyone is different with this sort of thing, maybe you could fill us in on a little background information? Like how long you were taking the pills, what strength, how many, etc.

Well, it all started with about a script for 30 when I had a hand operation.  It wasn't enough to get hooked on but I knew I liked them.  Then from time to time I would get one from a friend and take one recreationally.  Then my wife started liking them and motivated her to clean house.  We never obtained any illegally but once or twice a month we would take one on a Saturday and clean house for 5 hours.  These things rock!.  We were relocated for work to another state.  I neighbor, which was also a good friend in our old hometown, was buying them from the cleaning lady.  So we would get some and take them recreationally.  Then I had another surgery and my appendix removed, then a car accident, and then pain management, where I would get 120 per month, plus spending $2000.00 more a month as we would run out and buy them illegally.

So anywhere from 4 a day to 14 a day for 2 years.  We have finally said enough is enough.  We cannot do this cold turkey.  I had to take some this afternoon, really my wife was worse off than myself.  Tomorrow we are calling the Dr to hopefully get suboxone so we can manage.  We made it about 44 hours>>> it was the worse 44 hours of my life.  Depression, lathargic, sick, all of the flu like symptoms. We are both successfull professional and can't believe we are foolish enough to be in this mess.  I wouldn' wish this on my worst enemy.  I have heard great thing about suboxone, but it can also be addicting.  That's my next step, I pray that it works.  We are running out of money and vacation days to deal with this.
