marijuana and anti-depressants

Hi i'm 15. I have really bad depression issues and i have to take anti-depressants. The problem with that is that i am a drug addict. I used to pop E everyday at school during third period. I also have been addicted to marijuana since the eighth grade. My parents wont ever guess because my grades wont reflect it. whatever i say i get, so i would feel bad if i dissapointed them so i wouldnt want them to know that im on drugs. But i was on my anti- depressants and then i smoked a lot of marijuana. Today is my 15 day high and i actually want to be sober now but im afriad its not going to wear off. Please help Me.

You stopped the antidepressant?  When?

In what way do you feel high?  Do you think it's anxiety?

I don't know what it is so I asked if you felt any anxiety.

You mean you stopped the AD's on APRIL 22nd right?

Here's what I think: You stopped the AD and it really should have been gradually tapered.
You took E EVERYDAY! That's not good. You just can't know what's in that junk.

You've smoked a lot of pot and who knows what was in that...see where I'm going here?
You've done some drugs that can really mess with your mind and now you're feeling it! You need to tell your parents what's happened and you need to see a doctor and be totally honest.  In my opinion, this is a serious situation and I wouldn't wait any longer. You need to be checked. Two weeks drug free is way too long to be feeling like this!

You need to get some help as soon as possible and NEVER touch drugs again!

Stopping the antidepressant cold turkey can really mess with you, it could be that. But like Vicki said, with the drugs you were doing you could've had something laced in them that messed with you. I don't want to scare you, but it's time to fess up to your parents because you NEED to see a doctor and be honest about ALL your drug use history, and about the antidepressant as well. You don't want this to get any worse, and it's possible without getting medical attention because something is definitely wrong.

ok...for SOME people, smoking pot can do things to you that last for days or weeks or months. it did to me.

i've read posts of other people who have weird things like this happen and there's no real good reason for it...but for me, i used to smoke pot and loved it...then one day i was smoking with some friends and it totally turned on me. i became EXTREMELY paranoid and was begging to go to the ER and my heart started racing. i thought it was laced. i started totally loosing my mind. i eventually passed out, but spent the next few months feeling EXACTLY like what you describe. why? i don't know....

a few years ago, i tried pot again thinking i just got some bad stuff....me and some friends were drinking and had a bon-fire going and it seemed like a fun thing to do. same thing happened again. i even called the ER and tried to walk to the ambulance station. that time, though, the fog only lasted a few days, but i only had taken 3 hits.

i can't give a reason why it does this to me, but i'm not the only one. some people claim that it's because we don't know how to handle our pot....but i know it isn't true. the first time it happened, i'd smoked a lot in a very short amount of time. the effects it triggered for a while i think were caused by the drug, and later caused by the fact that i DO have an anxiety disorder. it caused a sense depersonalization for about a year....meaning i didn't feel real. i felt like someone watching a movie of myself. i felt 'outside' of myself. it was a very weird feeling and i hope NEVER to feel that way again.

anyway, i don't know if the same thing happened to you or not...i do know that for a long time, i got along just fine with pot and it happened completely out of the blue. also, if you d/c'd your antidepressant, then that could be adding to anything that the pot caused.

if it IS caused by what happened to me, then the best thing to do is relaxation exercises and yoga and give it time. try not to worry about it too much. it WILL eventually go away. when i had that happen to me, i did research. turns out i'm not the only one it happens to. i also told my psychiatrist about it. all he said was 'that's what i would expect to happen to you when you smoke it.'.......i never got a chance to ask him why he thought that.
