How do I get off Methadone after over 17 years ? I am in Ft Worth Texas and need help!

Tapering from 90 to 20 was really easy...I'm sure u r higher than that but nevertheless going down 2-5 mg a week really isn't a problem so start slow and just make urself do it! Good luck! Btw I have found the liquid way easier to taper than pills cuz they can adjust it for u while pills...especially with take homes r too tempting to double up etc.....

congrats for wanting to get off.......I wore the liquid handcuffs for 6 1/2 yr at 150mg ......so 17yr we have a member ...''billy'' who got off after 23yr so it is possible even if your long term
you need to taper slowly off what dose are you at now ?? we will support your effort to do this but its going to take a few months depending on your dose you cant just C/T methadone
or should I say you shouldent the withdrawals are to harsh if you go at it that way tapering is very doable took me 8 1/2 mo to do but it is so so worth it once you get threw it post back to let us know how much your on....weill go from ther also if you have take homes and how long if you do let me know......good luck and God bless.....Gnarly
