methadone detox

Hi , I have been on methadone for 5 years and have been decreasing my dose for about a year now . I was at my high dose of 150 mg a day for 4 years . Now I am at 3 mg a day . In three weeks I should be down to 0 mg . I am doing 1mg a week at this point . When I first started my detox on the higher dose I went down 4mg a week until I eventually got down to 40mg ( I did have to hold the dose a couple a times along the way , but not for long ) . From 40mg I have gotten down to 3mg in a estimate of 4 months . Ive been feeling more mental than physical problems . I cant wait to put my children to bed at night some days . I feel rather disconnected to everything that did feel normal before . I feel angry , bored  , unmotivated , . I know that that this process is very normal , but would I like to know if anyone might know if things are gonna get much worse for me when I get off the methadone . Being my dose is so low right now makes me wonder , will I feel much worse when Im not taking any methadone at all . At this point over all I dont think I feel that bad . I have cold turkey from taking  30mg of methadone in the past before I got on the methadone program and I went through hell for months , never really slept . I just hope that doing the detox the way I am now will make all the difference later . If I can get some input from anyone that can relate it would mean alot to me . Im very worried . I was on Methadone several times but never for that long a period so I really can't help you with this.

I just wanted to say congrats on your tapering and wanting to get off. Good job and keep it up.
