methadone to detox from hydrocodone?

I am going home today after 3 nights in the hospital for detox from 300 Mg daily Hydros. Feel really good, as they gave me 20 Mg methadone to start and tapered to my last dose at 1:00 am of 10 Mg. Had total of 6 doses,Am pretty nervous about how I am going to feel when the last of the Methadone wears off. Not sure what to do next, any suggestions would be appreciated.

Whatever you do, no matter how you're feeling... Don't take any more methadone!! I think it's ridiculous they gave you that much, or any at all in the first place.
Hopefully you have the same experience that weavers friend had. Taking it only 3 days (thank god) is good.
Just don't want you to think that you felt good on it so maybe you should start taking it. That would be a HUGE mistake!!!
I'm glad you're feeling good and I hope you continue too! Now the hard part will start... Try to keep yourself busy. I did a 3 day detox years ago and felt great physically but when I got home, I was so "out of my element and bored with myself", that I went back to using the same day :(
Hit up a meeting or reach out on here if you start to get thoughts of using!
Good luck and congrats on your sobriety :)))

I have not known anyone to use methadone to detox from Hydro's, but I have a friend who used it to kick Oxymorphone and Oxycontin. She took less than you, always about 10mgs a day. Her use was probably close to your 300mg hydros. In total amazement, she had almost no symptoms from the fast acting opioids. The long half life of methadone helped her to adjust slowly and she never formed an addiction to it, so it actually helped a great deal.
There is no way to know what it will be like for you, though I can guarantee one thing, no matter what it is like, it will be a million times worth it. Hang in there, hang around here, and don't hang yourself. Just try not to expect anything or anticipate anything. It will be  short time in retrospect. I know time slows down in detox, but you will have a whole new life ahead of you. Keep us posted, be easy on yourself, you are on the right track.
