ok, I hope someone out there has some info for me, I have been on 90 mg of methadone for about a year, plus sometimes 10 roxis a day but not everyday.
i am sick of the **** running my life and want off! I am not a fool and cant and wont do it cold turkey, been there done that, I have taken 40 mg of meth 2 days ago and have done roxis and had a fetynal patch on for 2 days, I have a presription for opana er and as I was reading it I noticed the scary for me word antoginist (sp?) I was looking forward to trying to get totally off the meth with the help of the opana and now that I read that I am wondering if it is like suboxome or subutex?? please help I know my loving , controlling (means well) husband is going to try and get me to take this in the am and I am scared to take it without knowing pplease desparate for info in florida!!
it is morphine, Be very careful, i wouldnt take it but i understand not wanting to go ct that is so scary. Just be very carefull taper at very small dose till you are ready to jump off and be free from all of it, Did you tell your doctor that you have problems with pills? morphine seems a bit much if he knows about the problem. Sorry so many ?'s =)
I thank you very much for the advice and yes, I do know about the dangers of the morphine, Unfortunetly I am on methadone for over a year at quite a high dose and I want more than life itself to get off the meth., I know it will be too hard to just stop, so i plan on taking the opana (day 1 , today) for a week or so) and eventually try to take the suboxome and detox with that,
I know of a few poeple that had success with that,m the bottom liner us if you really want off it is amazing what a advil will do for you after all this **** is out of my system
this is the third time I have tried to reply to you because for some reason I keep losing the page and it goes to web md?? weird!
I can handle the aches and pains and even the vomitting and diareah it is the ebejebees and the restlessness I cant take , probably like everyoner else
so, are you also taking something for pain? Any plan if you are, of getting off?
Fir 4 years I have been on Ultram for pelvic pain, Two weeks ago i went to the doc and told him i want off because of what i had read, we are going down two pills a month to be safe so i have 4 months of taper but it will be worth it, I just took it for pain .I am having surgery on tuesday to take out all my girlie parts i have been on lortab also so after this surgery i told my doc i want off that also. Finally an end to this hell of hurting and these pills will be over with, I hate taking them =) you are going to do fine, i can tell you are determined and that is awesome, take it one day at a time and know im here if you need to talk
all my love
Thanks for the response, I was getting really ansy last night, yes, I am trying to just get off the methadone, I was involved in car accident in 2005, (bus lost his brakes and rear ended me) I have had 1 surgery and don't want another on my neck, It started out with vicodins, to roxis to methadone. Now I know that, or I think anyways and am willing to try. if I can get off all this and give my body a chance to get back to normal it is amazing what a advil or tylenol can do, ya know?
at any rate , I started the opana today to get off the methadone. It seems so far to be making it tolerable, allthough I know the meth stays in your system for a really loong time but if I am off the meth for 2 weeks or longer from what I hear I can use the suboxome to detox with, I really want to be free from the pain killers and see exactly hoew I feel with out them and if I am in pain and advil doesnt work I will know nexttime , if there is one, never to get on the methadone, I know for some popkle it is ok but for me I hate it, it is a personal thing, I have seen it destroy too many lives.
thans again for answering and any advise would be much appreciated,
I can handle the achyness, and the flu symptoms, it is the restlessness and the ebeejeebees I cant take!
good luck with your surgery, I'll say a few prayers for you, One if my friends had that done two years ago and now a days it is nothing compared to years ago, they went in through her bellybotton, I think, The recovery time was a week I think, dont quote me on that though..
At any rate if you need some moral support while your recovering and if you just need someone to say "you can do it!", I'll be here, I am sure I'll need the same, I had 5 years in recovery before this happened, (I was rear ended by a bus that lost his brakes) Thank God all I really hurt was my neck, not that it wasnt enough, that was in 2005 and I have been through vicodins, roxis, you name it I probably tried it and when it came to the methadone it was a reality check for me, even so a year or more later here I am still on it....
again good luck with your surgery...suzeeq164
me again, I forgot to tellyou, you asked if I told the dr that I had a problem with pills. and the answer is yes the first dr I did and never took anything at first, but then it changed, I got caught up in my disease. and the poorme's..I live in FL and here they hand here in y habd it out like they writing a script for antibiotics. it is ridiculous, dont get me wrong at the time I wasrateful at the time to get the releif and the dr and the pjarmacist were my best friends..lol
I TO WAS IN A CAR ACCIDENT ABOUT 6 YEARS BACK. BEFORE THEN I NEVER TOOK OUR TRIED ANYTHING. I MEAN NOTHING. I DONT SMOKE, I DRANK ONLY IF I WENT OUT WITH THE GUYS ECT.
THE DOCTOR I WENT TO PUT ME ON LORATABS, XANAX AND SOMA. I THINK THIS WAS THE NORMAL COCTAIL FOR ALL OF THE DOCS IN THE AREA. BEFORE I KNEW WHAT WAS HAPPENING, I WAS AKING ALL THAT HE WAS PERSCRIBING AND THEN BUYING ANY I COULD GET MY HANDS ON ON THE BLACK MARKET. IT GOT WHERE I WAS TAKING ABOUT 20 PLUS LORATABS A DAY. I FINALLY GOT TIRED OF IT AND GOT PUT ON SUBOXIN. I BARELLY GOT ANY WITHDRAWL SYMTOMS AND AFTER TWO WEEKS OF IT I WAS COMPLETLY OFF OF THEM. BY THIS TIME I HAD BEEN ON THE LORATABS FOR OVER 3 YEARS. ABOUT 1 YEAR LATER I WAS OFFERED A LORATAB AT A CLUB AND THAT STARTED A FIRESTORM. AGAIN BEFORE I KNEW IT I WAS TAKING OVER 40 A DAY AGAIN. THIS TIME I WAS TO ASHAMED TO ASK ANYONE FOR HELP. I FIGURED FOR ME TO RESPECT THIS I NEEDED TO QUIT ON MY ON. I GOT MY HANDS ON A METHADONE 40 MG WAFER. BROKE IT IN HALF AND THE FIRST DAY I TOOK A HALF. 3 DAYS LATER WHEN I GOT REAL BAD I TOOK A QUARTER. AFTER 5 MORE DAYS I TOOK THE OTHER QUARTER AND I HAVE NOT TOUCHED ANYTHING ELSE IN OVER 4 YEARS. ONCE YOU GET YOUR MIND IN ITS RIGHT PLACE, YOUR BODY WILL FOLLOW. ITS NOT EASY BUT ITS WELL WORTH IT. RACER-22-0
Yeah "they" mean "well". BUT!! After building up to 8-12 30mg roxi's a day.....ENOUGH!! Had to have total hip replacement(thank you Prednisone); doc told me,"if I wanted him to do surgery, I would have to OFF ALL pain meds!! Well I did a methadone detox(on my own). took 2 months. Had surgery; took 7.5's I MISSED the BUZZ!! Now on Opana..I feel so WEIRDED OUT!! Why?
My doctor gave me a rx 2 days ago for Opana ER 40MG.read about it but was determined to take to get off Lortab 10,12-15 a day.Long story short my insurance would not cover it,and for 60 pills the lowest price I got was $688.00.Forget that.
hello everyone i want to share with you all what is happening.long story short my husband has leg perthies he ruined his growth plate as a kid had a few surgeries as a kid as he got older he had alot of hip pain dr.did 2 surgeries on his hip he needed a total hip replacement but they said he was to young.he went to a pain management dr. who put him on the opana his hip was bone on bone.he finially got the hip replacement he has been in need of on jan.15th problem is now he is dependent on the opana he is aware of this and agreed to let me administer his meds.he found them and took out about 50 of them he dident think i would know.he has to be slowly taken off them he dont like the way he feels he told me when he dosent get the dosage hes used to.i hated thoes opana from day 1 i dident like how they made his personality change he dident think he was any different.
i know how much pain he was in and i understand why he had to take them but now he is so dependent on them i dont know how to handle the situation.i know hes going to try to con me and say he needs more because hes in pain.opana are no joke.i guess iam hopeing someone can give me some advice he takes 4 40milg a day prob.more than that.the dr.just droped him to 20 milg but like i said he found the pills and took a bunch out and was taking them on top of what i was giving him.i dont like seeing him like this.anyone taking opan please be careful.
It is not morphine. It is extended release oxymorphone. If you are familiar with OCs, Roxys or even percs, then you are in the right chemical family. Their are 2 chemicals in OCs and the stronger of the 2 is Oxymorphone. I am prescribed Opana 40mg as well. They are extremely strong. Be careful, many can throw up on them.
