methadone to withdrawl(withdrawal) from roxi"s???

Has anyone tried to withdrawl (withdrawal) from Roxicodone"s using the 5 day Methadone?????Im about to try it this week,ive tried it 1 time before and it did work,so i know its not any better switching from one drug to another but if you are seriously wanting to get off Roxi"s and have w/d"s so extreme then i know it worked for me but needless to say i went back and started taking the Roxi"s 9 days later due to my lower lumbar l5-S1 being disturbed again,i thought just a few wouldnt hurt and boy oh boy let me tell you what a 'BIG!BIG! Mistake.I am so damn dumb at times i cant believe i would ever think that!well wish me luck,and to all stay strong and have a wonderful day!

As long as u get off in a week or 2 it is much like sub..using another narcotic to ease the wd,,,but neither produce a high(for most)that is desirable..but some can get stuck on either on of those drugs..and u know that..so be safe...i have seen people do it with 10 mgs of methadone then start cutting to 7.5 for a few then 5 then 2.5 and get off the methadone in less than 2 weeks...good luck to u and keep posting

never heard of the 5 day methadone plan, most people who get on methadoen go on the 5 yr plan
if you cannot taper off the roxies, i am not sure you will be able to taper off a stronger drug
inpatient detox may help you, atleast seperate you from the pills long enough to detox
our treatment center uses roxies as a taper med for methadone, and darvocets as a taper med for roxies

Today is day 2 of my cutting back on the "ROXIE"S!Doing pretty good actually,i think that i will start the methadone a little early because i need to get on with my life!I know i will do this just a lil scared on how bad the w/d"s are going to be thats why i started my weening down.No sense in putting off what i want so very much............I"m confident with all the support i have been getting from everyone hear that i wiil stay strong and beat this!!!!I have to,i want my life and just have way too much i have been missing out on for way too long! I know its not going to be easy but i can do this right!!!!!Thanks for all the comments,and advice it really means alot.

beware of the methadone, i would cut the roxies down to crumbs before i would get on the methadone

I am actually going to try the 5 day methadone wein off this week myself to get off the roxi's.  I really want this to end for me so I can get back to my life that I have put on hold for way to long.  I have heard it works if you want it to.  The only thing I am afraid of is to make sure I don't take it for to many days in a row so that I am trading one addiction for another that happens to be a much worse withdrawl (withdrawal).  Has anyone tried this before?  Does anyone know just how many days you would need to take methadone in a row to become dependent on it?

Best bet is Klonopin and tramadol for 5 days most docs will prescribe tramadol cause its basically non narco and klonopins take off the edge i tried a 5 day matha done plan at 15 Mgs a day and ended up on 220 mgs a day and eventually 2 years later went to jail and cold C/Ted off thing about opiates is the withdrawl (withdrawal) lasts usually 10 days at the most restlessness and lack of sleep make you not wanna go out and if you dont go out then all you do is think ow bad you feel and that leads to relapse everytime but methadone with drawl last 20 to 90 days of sheer body agony if you can take 10 to 20 MGs at 1pm for days and then quit it could work cause even if you do 3g og H a day or 6 roxis a day 15-20 mg of done with stop with drawl symptoms.dont forget the immodium for the diarreha cause dehydration is no joke and since your appitite will go so will you thirst good luck and i hope this helps

HI if I where you I would just taper off the roxys....methadone is a devil to get off of
and if you wind up on it its usually longer then 5 days ....I was strung out on it for 6 1/2yrs and trust me its no fun getting off of it ....just start taking 1 pill less every 3 days
till your down to 1 pill then jump...no need to play with fire to get clean

The 4 or 5 day methadone detox is used in many outpatient detoxes. It can be effective but the relapse rates are high. The relapse rates are even higher if you do this on your own , without medical supervision. Detox is only the first step. all the best

I ment to say the 4 or 5 day methadone taper detox is used in many inpatient detoxes and work better if the person has a more serious habit. If the person doesn't he or she could get methadone rebound after and relapse. Relapse rates are high for opiate detox, but even higher if you do it yourself with medical supervision.

BE CAREFUL WITH METHADONE!!!!!!  You may say you are going to do a 5 day program, i said I was going to do a 30 day program and that turned into a 5 year program that finally ended last october.  

I would honestly not touch the methadone, you are going to detox either way, methadone is just going to prolong this, mentally you are still going to feel bad, I'm just being honest with you.  Opiate detox is no fun but you can definitely get off of roxi's without methadone.

If you are using methadone, don't use more than 10-20 mg a day.  Definitely don't go over 30 mg because you will get physically dependent on it at a 30mg or higher dosage.  

Like i said, be careful with the methadone, we are addicts, and if you take the methadone you may find you like that and its soooo easy to get and available everyday and its legal that you might end up wanting to take it everyday at a clinic.
