methadone withdrawl(withdrawal)

methadone withdrawl(withdrawal)

I have been on methadone for the past 5 years.  I'm currently on 55 mg and thinking about switching to subutex.  I've tried tappering off of methadone but i can't get past 20mg. Does anyone have any advice on switching to subutex.  Is it worth it?

I've never been on sub,but I was on methadone for almost 2 years. This is just my 2 cents, why switch? I know how you're feeling.I tapered twice and got down to 10 mgs both times and went back up.The third time I got down to 25 mgs and just jumped. The third time I knew no matter how I got off of it I wasn't going to be able to to it without paying some type of price. It's not a question of can or can't my friend, because YOU CAN,all you have to do is want it bad enough, and YOU CAN do it.Thats just MY opinion,I'm sure others will come along that have their own.No matter what you decide to do,I wish you the very best.Keep posting, this is a great place for help and support.Peace..Kim
