i read a comment you made to another ,it was a fairly long winded aproach to explaining to him it was exactly the way he may want to go ,i looked for it but couldnt find it again,,but it was excelent which is why i am turning to you (AND) April for any help ,i am finaly sick of methadone and take risks everyday by also takeing many clonazepams a day and temazepams,,for chronic anxiety attacks and sleep i also take many other meds if you need to know them just ask,,anyway i have been on 100ml of methadone for approximatly 2 yearsand dont want to live with it anymore for reasons you both know im assuming,,one is i bairly ever get out of bed cept to go get my weekly doses of done a week every thursday,i want the old me back,,for one that was mentioned by you was i have no sex drive at all period i have not even masterbated in yearswell since i been on it,i have no energey anymore and can sleep forever now ,,problem is before methadone besides the addictions i had i woke with terrible headaches migrains at times pain threwout my body very bad in my knees and legs along with full body aches which methadone has basicaly taken away,,so im alittle afraid that if i quit will my pains all come back,,but i realy do want to know the best way to get off this even though i think i read everything about the subject theres always something more you may grab from a fellow patient,,so from what i get i should basicaly go in reverse and taper 5 ml every week constantly till i get off ,,then i go threw more hell and in about a year i will feel no effects,,this is all shrunk down and under assumation,,so please give me all the details you can give me both you and april i would love to get the help ,,please and thanx,,,alan

I cold turky'ed off a fairly high dose of Methadone over three years ago, I was prescribed the Methadone by my pain control doc because he said it was "less addictive" than the oxycodone I was on and wanted off of. wtf? CTing methadone was the worst WD I ever had, listen to Gnarly, he is very knowledgeable about Methadone...I wish I could have had his insight and guidance when I was going through it. If I can be of any help let me know.

HI Aprill ....welcome to the forum....I was on 150ml of methadone took me 8 1/2 mo to taper off been clean about 1 week past a year now...I have helped others get off this stuff if you need some help I will be happy to help you....what was your starting dose and where are you at with your taper now.....tapering can be difficult but if done properly its very doable
and in the end when its all said and done it is so so worth it ....give us a little info on whats going on and will try and help you out I will wait to here back form you good luck and God bless.......Gnarly

Hey whats up? Are you trying to get off Methadone? I was on a methadone taper. Tell a bit more info about what you are taking and how long.. I might be able to anwser some questions... Kim
