methadone

Hi getting off of methadone is no fun, when I ween off it took almost 2 months to feel better, its a terrible man made opiate, for anyone trying to get off the methadone or any other opiate it takes time, methadone takes the longest, but I promise you it gets better, you just got to fight it it works, drin k plenty of water , make sure you take all the vitimans that your suppose to. and don't sit around, that will put you in anxiety, stay busy, don't think about wds, that will set you up to have panic attacks, that's what I did worry about wds, and then my mind went into over drive and I had wds stay on this site, this is the only one that helps it worked for me, it will work for you god bless John

Hey John!

I too am glad you're doing better.

While no doubt Methadone is a rough one to come off, I think it's important to remember that you had other factors that contributed to those "2 months to feel better".  You had started taking the Tylenol with Codeine #4s during your M detox, which definitely dragged out your detox, and then you also had to detox off of them...so not 100% of what you went through was the Methadone alone.  Just felt it was important to mention that too, for the sake of the readers.

You did great on your M taper...and it sounds like you're doing great now.  You gave some great tips for someone who has to taper off Methadone also.  Are you going to meetings, or taking part in any counselling?

Best to you, John.
