methadone??

Detoxing off methadone at 10 miiligrams require hospital detox??That   seems so severe.I talked to a drug counselor and she said they wont admit me for inpatient detox on such a low dose.. It scares me when alot of people say you can't quit methadone without going in the hospital..Ruthie

I myself got down to 13 millagrams of methadone I might of made it cold turkey until my counselor told me that in all her years she had only seen 4 people do it...I was so mad I switched to suboxen and was off it in 3 months completely...I luckily had insurance.....Methadone can be a life saver but at a very high price....A friend of mine was hospital had  Gangrene from a infected kidney...never new it ...the Methadone was such a good pain releiver that he almost died....aside from that it ***** the life out of you and you are no longer cabable to feel any emotions...
try for the suboxone you only need a few I know someone who tapered off with just 10 pills she just chipped them in half then half again until she was done ...a yr later she is fine...should state these were people who used the med for pain then had trouble stopping the methadone...Sally

lol yeah I felt better knowing they thought it was low enough to do by  myself..I still am at10 after being on 20 for 2 years..I think I need to stick with 10for awhile.It has only been 3weeks..Also hoping the money I need to go sub route will be avaiable soon Ruthie

so basically theyre telling you the only way theyll admit you is if you start taking more and get hooked even worse. thats encouraging aint it? a holes.

no i wasnt on methadone. i was on percs and vics. i did the sub tho.

Thats what I did.Now u were on methadone right??You went the sub route??

call a detox center. see what THEY say.
