Hey and thanks for ur reply i am doin this thru my doctor and i was originally asking about the tramadol to take during the subutex but as its an opiet i don't think this would be a good idea as it would interfere with my subutex and i don't want to put my self at risk from the withdrawals but now im wanting to know if i could take these during the initial switch to help me as Ive just been told by my nurse prescriber that i have to wait 40hr after my last dose of meths till i can take the subutex and i really think im going to struggle with this as this is a long time so will these tramadol help me at all i know  will have to make sure they are out of my system b4 i take the subutex how long does it take for the tramadol to be clear from ur system as i don't want to risk having withdrawals pls advise if you can thankyou.

Hi Everyone, please be advised that MedHelp does not allow tapering or dosing posts.  There is no way we can know someone's complete medical history and how medications may affect someone.  Please seek proper professional medical advice before adding or weaning off any medication or drug.

Thanks!

I used tramadol to help with the wd off heroin and it worked well. I did tht until i got on the sub program. Just be careful bc like the above comment it is a like opiate

Tramadol is an opiate like synthetic pain killer. If you are not a addicted to it, subs should wipe it off your opiate receptors with little effect. You question was a little vague, my concern is precipitated withdrawals, because you are switching from methadone. Is the Tramadol to curb withdrawals of methadone while waiting to induce the subs? Are you planning this in a doctors office or at home? Methadone to sub switch has special concierations and I hope you or your doctor are aware of them. Good luck.
