mixing insulin and methadone maintnance

i am a recovering heroin addict using methadone as my my recovery method and i have diabetes 2 and take insulin daily as well, i take 100mg methadone liquid and 20 units of Humulin N type insulin once nitely. during the day i seem ok and around 5 or 6 pm i start to go thru withdrawls really bad to wher i want drugs so far i forced myself to go to bed and havent used again i been clean since the day after thanksgiving this year a few months. does the diabetes or insulin effect my meth and thats why i get sick from it not breaking down properly? a friend says liquid meth has sugar and thats why i cant stay well they say i need a much hiigher dose they are diabetic and require 300mg daily split dose, is that what i need to stay well? please help me stay sober but stop hurting at same time.

You need to ask your doctor about this one.  Dont want to mess with the diabetes.....sara

This is a question for a good doctor. I'm surprized you haven't been given info. by the diabetes doc or the methadone doc. Some people I've know need to take meth. twice a day. Most people do fine on once a day dosing because of the long halflife but some can't make it 24 hours no matter what the dose. all the best
