The two most common causes of death I personally have seen, is methadone/alcohol and methadone/benzo combo. The methadone/benzo combo caused more seizures and hospitalization than any other drug combo. I honestly have seen people shoot speed balls, cocaine/heroine combo, and have less health issues and instances of death. Even those who were prescribed methadone and klonipine by the same doctor, I have seen hospitalization 3 times before the doctor changed the script. The liver only detoxes one drug at a time, opiates appear to the body as less toxic, so the methadone builds up in the system and the lungs stop. I have had multiple respiratory arrests and am lucky to be alive, and that is just from too much methadone, without any benzo, so I would say speak up. It may be uncomfortable to confront an addict, but it is much more uncomfortable to find one dead and have to bury them. Good luck, you may just be saving this tenants life by creating consequences.

Hi..Well on the Methadone paper work it states right on it NOT to mix methadone with Klons..However, I have a little over 2 yrs off both these meds and know people who still get both prescribed together..They are now starting to crack down hard on this..YES she needs some HELP before it is to late.
Does she get the Methadone & Klons prescribed by a DR??? Because if she is going to a clinic for her Dones then they usually test for these types of meds. They will let a person go..Mine was prescribed all theses yrs for pain..If she is getting them prescribed then you can give them a call and let them know if she does not stop..They will take these meds away or at least one and she will be one Pissssed off person..BUT it will save her life. Just be out front and tell her she has a BIG problem and YOU do not want to find her dead one day..Someone has to take some kind of control on this situation..This is NOT GOOD..Trust Me on this one!!!!!
One of the BIG reason I came clean was because I knew one day I was not going to wake up..I would be standing in the kitchen in a nod. I would have the remote in my hand and a sec later it drops to the floor waking me back up..I have also fell asleep in bed or on the couch with cereal or food all over me..This is a very lethal mix for so many reasons. She could choke on food or fall and hit her head or so much more.
I could take the Methadone and get a pick me up energy buzz, but as soon as I took a 1mg or 2mg I was a walking dead person.I would only try to take it late at night to come down from my mix of Methadone and street bought Adderral. (do not have ADHD so it wires some people). It still would do this to me the next day until I did my Mix again of the other 2..Dumb!!! PLEASE talk to her and have her NOT mix these or talk to the DR. Plus the Klons have Long Legs like the Methadone and if she gets to hooked, it will mess up her natural sleep pattern, she will always feel tired and the Klons was the WORST withdraw I have ever had. However, I did come off 2 other meds with the Klons, but I do know that it was so long and intense mostly because of the Klons. Plus I did not know how dangerous it could be to just c/t a benzo until I got on here back in 2012.They will be putting these meds in a different class real soon or make them so hard to get..Most DRs will NOT mix a opiate with a benzo these days..The Law is changing and it is getting harder and harder to get these types of meds for many, many reason and one is just because of what we are talking about here..She needs HELP!! ASAP before it is to late..I waited almost 12 yrs before I got it together but I was only on the klons for about 5-6yrs. Bad, Bad, Bad mix..I will be praying for her. Have her come on here and talk to us..It is never to late and help is out here..It will only get worse and/or she will be adding more meds to the pot. Keep us posted.
Bless

Both drugs are respiratory and central nervous system depressants.
A very dangerous combination.
She is on a hefty dose of each.
If she smokes and then nods she could start a fire.
If she drinks alcohol she increases her chances of it being fatal.
Poor girl needs serious help.

I would recommend to you to let her know that she is in imminent danger
Of overdosing. That you are concerned for her and your home.
I would also recommend you let her know that she can't live there under those
Circumstances.

This is a renter you say. Wow this is so SO not your problem. If I were you, I would confront her asap, tell her what you told us, then tell her that's why she is no longer welcome. That is called consequences for the addict. You may lose some money, but that's nothing compared to a dead girl in your home. The fallout from that for you could be horrifying: family questioning you or blaming you and maybe even police.

You don't need this, my friend. You can be gentle yet firm. Get her outta your home.
