morphine overdose

I have a son in law in a coma tonight after morphine overdose-he has ms and als besides cancer. I am wondering what chance there is for recovery for this. He has no response to pain, a very little reaction to a light shown in his eyes. Tomorrow they are doing another cat scan, ekg and brain scan to determine if there is any activity. I am trying to help my daughter prepare for the outcome. Has anyone had any experience like this. Drs don't seem to be too optmistic.

I am so sorry to hear. You and your daughter must be heartbroken.

This is probably more of a medical question that anything, and you will have to play the waiting game.

Again, my heart goes out to you. I will pray for you and your family.

Take care.
