They are aware of how much morphine she was on .. I was just wondering if maybe she was going threw withdrawl in the hosptil .   Some people do have seizures durning withdrawl.. Are they still giving it to her and do you know how much.

yes they know the high dose that she is on and as far as withdrawls , i dont think so becouse my brother inlaw said that she had been sick for about 2 1/2 weeks so she was not taking the
morphine. but the drs were still giving her morphine about 2 mgs a few hrs

It can cause sezuires but if she has been sick for weeks there most likely something else going on..
I hope you all figure out what is going on and that she gets well fast...Plz let me know how she is ..

It is generally understood that opiates like Morphine do not cause siezures either in use or withdrawl.

Alcohol withdrawl does... you might investigate her consumption?

One thing I have seen in Morphine and Dilaudid (synthetic Morphine) is altered mental status called Paranoid Delusions. People believe others are stalking or trying to hurt them. But this is nothing like a siezure.

Siezures are a serious malfunction in the brain which cannot be faked, and are not easily brought on.

Good Luck!

Vickie I do know for fact that youre not supposed to take morphine if you have any sort of pressure on the brain . I know becuase i have a brain tumor , and my doc wont let me use morphine,oxys..exct... little did he know I have been an addict for years.Morphine use can cause siezures for some people like me. have the doc do a cat scan on your sister.
