A women I know took methadone throughout her whole pregnancy (it was not prescribed to her ) now her baby is born and she was taking it while she was breast feeding she quit breastfeeding and the baby went through major with drawel so the mom started crushing up methdone and feeding to the baby i have warned her the methadone will build up in the babys system and could kill the baby she is not listening am i wrong about this (she will not tell anyone one cause she is scared of them taking her child ) she was taking 60 mg aday while pregnant and is giving the baby like 2 mg a day

Let someone else know please......It might seem as though your friend loves her child and maybe she does, but her mind must be clouded by the drugs and someone needs to step in and save the baby.

I agree with coolio. Call child protection services anonomously or call the police.  That baby's life is in danger!  If the baby is having withdrawls the baby needs medical attention and they will know the best way to help the baby.  Yes your friend will get in some trouble I am sure but that baby's life is more important!!!

this is CHILD ABUSE. the authorities need to be notified IMMEDIATELY. there should be no hesitation. by withholding this information, you yourself, are involved. this child could die. this is very serious.

if you KNOW this there is no other solution for you other than to report this. you have verbalized knowledge publicly that this is occuring. if this child dies, you will always know you could have prevented it.
the mother should not be a concern at this point. it is obvious her own addiction has rendered her unable to make judgement at all.
you however, can do that.
this child depends on you.

OMG... This baby SHOULD be taken away from her.  Turn her in ASAP. There should be no question to this. And if this baby dies, you'll be an accessory to murder weither you are caught or not.

she is not a friend of mine she is my niehbors sis t her other sis also had a baby addicted two weeks before but the difference is cps took the child and they weaned him at the hospital their is some cps involvement but i dont know to what extent I am calling now

I used to work for CPS and this is criminal behavior and child abuse. You could get in trouble for knowing and not reporting it. This is illegal and wrong and could kill the child. You could go to jail along with the mother...please call and report this immediately, this is so wrong on sooooo many levels.

I am so glad to see you are calling. Your care & concern has probably saved this baby's life. This woman is sick beyond her drug addiction....or her addiction is just that far out of control. I will keep them in my prayers. Please let us know how things go ok?
