muscle spasms/ drugs

Hi, thanks to all for all the good info and support during my WD's.  Today is day 13.  I have only slept about 3 full nights the whole time.  At first, it was just the WD's, but what keeps me awake is this peiodic waves of muscle spasms and jerks.  I've been trying to stay off all sleeping pills, tried Melatonin, hot baths and lots of tea with no success. 50 mg  Benadryl worked well 2 nights ago, but last night it didn't, I ended up taking 75mg and I think it made it worse.  I am going to the dr today to find out if there's somthing that will stop these spasms, I am really afraid he's going to give me something else addictive.  I'm starting to worry that I caused permanent nerve damage even tho I only used norco for a few months while undergoing chemo.  I hate to be a pest but the more info I can get here the better, so far, I've found you guys no more than most dr.s about this ****.

well, it's been 4 hours since taking the flexaril, and it only relieved a little spasin, but not enough, and I still can't sleep, this nervous tension and spasin out is driving me crazy.  don't know how long I can go anymore

I remember the muscle spasms being terrible. But that was a long time ago, and no long term effects here. Dont worry, you will be through it soon enough. I hated taking Flexaril cuz I had a weird side effect where when I close my eyes, its like someone kept taking flash pictures...weird, yes, but as long as it helps, dont worry about that kind of stuff

saw the dr. today, he gave me Flexaril, 30mg, hope that works.  its a muscle relaxer.

first congrats on day 13!!   I am sure everyone will give you , what worked best for them...For me if i had to say the number one thing that helped my RLS (which ws my worst ) was zanaflex...And for some reasont he generic did not work as well...I am not sure about it's addictive qualities, so ask your doctor...I stopped using it when all physical was over.....Good luck to you...

Its very unlikely that you caused any permanent nerve damage from what you describe. I kept doing the hydro during and to tolerate chemo myself........ much more likely that you still have while to go with that process........ it takes a little longer than many think. There is a preperation called Hylands Restful Legs available at Walgreens and WalMart - - many have used it successfuly....
