my worst fears

by troubleinohio, Feb 02, 2009 05:17AM
well my worst fears have come to be over the weekend- my first real, SEVERE back attack. My back blew out. It started late Sat night but didnt get too bad til yesterday morning, then progressed thoughout the whole day to the point that I was writhing in pain last night and puking from it. I almost wen to the ER several times but fought it off and made it thru the night. But this morning it is no betterr. ive beeen using heat pad, iburpofin 800mg, flexeril, and nothing is working. even ate some tramadols ive had here forever in a desperatre atttempt for relief and they didnt do squat eitherr. im afraid im going to have to go in today, i cant take this. im stuck bent over again since yesterday and bck is locked in spasms, omg it hurts so freeeking bad. also thing thats scares me is my legs are both very weak since this started. ive never had taht symptom before and it scares me that something is really wrong with my discs this time, i hoep they havent fully ruptured or antyhing =(

I'm sorry to hear your back is out.. L3 thru 5 go out on mine.. It sounds like we have the same injury.. when I feel the heat and tightening in the small of my back.. I get very nervous.. I know the table top syndrome.. They gave me percs last time.. nothing seems to touch it.. I wanted to wish you luck with that and please know you have my sympathies.. lesa

Back pain is horrible and sorry your hurting. You have come too far now for this to set you back on a pill eating binge so please be careful. I thought you liked being bent over, lmao. Hang in there trouble and hope you get some relief soon. Get to a dr if you must.

i have horrible back problem also, literally lay me out for days.  before i discovered pain meds i would just endure, lot and lots of ICE!!!  keep ice on your injury all the time, try not to do the heating pad (i know that feels better than ice) but in my experience ice works best.  when your in that much pain in all reality pain meds don't help that much!!!  at least that's my experience.  in a few days after you have iced your back then turn to the heat, heating pads, soaking in hot baths or better yet a hotsprings if you live near one.  i too am so afraid to have my back "go out" because i cannot take pain meds for it again or i'll be in the same addictive place.  good luck to you.  i had a doc say lately that your back will heal itself, even if its a rupture, so hang tight!
