please listen to this... methadone is super nasty, created by the devil, ct withdrawal from hydrocodone is a drop in the pot compared to methadone withdrawal. your doctor should be put in jail, as well as mine..!  (of course this is my opinion, your intitled to yours).

Every addict will tell you something diffrent. But in my experince you do not NEED methadone t get off such a small hydro habit, but hell it was nice of the doc to give it to you. My doc's were never that nice!
I would just and see, if you start feeling like you are kicking take a clonidine...those help with the "I feel like I'm gonna crawl out of my own skin" as well as the awful goose bumbs, if that doesn't help THAN take a 5 mg  of methadone. 15 mg of methadone is not a lot if you only take f for a few days you don't have to worry about the awfl withdrawals everyone is talking about.
I have been to many rehads/detoxs that use methadone to detox and have been fine and stayed clean afterwards with no risidula withdrawals.

NO NO NO....dont just stop taking the hydros and start clonidine.. DONT! Clonidine is a blood pressure med. only used for high blood pressure it has NOTHING to do with helping with withdrawl except making sure when you do go thru withdrawl your bolld pressure wont get outta wack... I was taking A lot of pain killers and quit cold turkey I was taking about the same as you and went thru the worst thing in my life.. and I still expierence some nerve spazms.. and I have been clean for a year. if you quit cold turkey then you will most likely expierence nerve problems.. and trust me it takes a long time to get better. I have no clue about the methadone.. but it seems kinda outrageous. Maybe get another opinion... I know that librium helps with withdrawl. and you can be weinged off soon. maybe go to the er and get another opinion. But I strongly suggest NOT quitting the hydro cold turkey. your body depends on it and it will frek out without it. You can have a easier withdrawl with the right meds. Good luck :)

I wouldl not do the methadone...Bite the bullet use the clonodine....I was on a higher dose of hydros' and i am 4months clean...

he just said he would test me so often but once the withdrawels went away he would taper me im still worried how bad the withdrawels are gonna be

What is your doctors taper plan. How long are you going to be on three a day ,when is he tapering you off?

the meth is 5mg 3 times daily then i also take 1mg of clonidine 3 times daily he said he could ween me off the meth easier than the withdrawels would be on the hydro please comment

Something doesn't sound right. If a Dr gave it to you. It should've been explained what they were doing. How long were you to take them?

That doesnt seem right, methadone is a more powerful drug than hydros, and harder for most people to quit (long half-life so the withdrawals are drawn out for a longer period)  How many mgs are the methadones this dr gave you?

i was taking 14 5/500 hydros a day  dr has give me 3 meths to take a day plus clonidine 3 a day

NO! Methadone is twice as hard to get off of.
How much hydrocodone are you on? How long have you been taking?

How much hydros to how much methadone. You realize that 10mgs of methadone is @ 20-25mgs of hydrocodone, right?

I don't think you are supposed to mix methadone with clonidine, I'm pretty sure that can kill you w/ hypotension.
