need advice and help

Ok. Im a 27year old male. I just found out from my dentist that i have been red flagged for gettin more than 90oxycodone(for a gunshot to my face). I have ha many injuries and broken bones and such in my life. But in the past 6 months or so, ive gotten accidentally shot i the face and got perscribed 96 percocet 5s. Since then i have had a couple teeth removed due to lack of proper dentistry. Well i have been red flagged, as told by my dentist, and im wondering what it means(other than bad, and no meds) what does it mean to be red flagged? How long does it last? And what do i do for meds now? Please help. I am unsure of any of this

One of the places you got meds from reported you, but I would suspect it was the pharmacy or your insurance.   Did you use the same pharmacy everytime?

Well, I would ask your Dentist how he found out you were redflagged. Was it reported to him by the pharmacy? To my knowledge there is no way to remove being redflagged. Maybe someone will come along who would know

I tooke the 96 as directed, and the bullet was removed. Since then i havent needed them. But i guess i was "doctor shopping". How do i remove this stigma? Because i tell each doc about the other, but i guess its cuz one was a dentist, the other an ear nose and throat specialist(for the gunshot) and random er visits. I wasnt doctor shopping least not intentionally. And they all were aware of the other. I was prescribed the 96 percocet 5s back in august of 2012. And tomy knowledge, havent been prescribed anything unless from dentist

You wouldnt be red flagged for only getting 96 percs if they were prescribed from the same Dr. Now if they are from different Dr's then thats the problem. Andie is right, In Illinois once you get red flagged, its impossible to get meds legally. I found this out too. But I was dr shopping and Pharmacy hopping so I deserved to be red flagged!

Anyways, I hope that if you have been getting from different sorces than you take it as a wake up call.

Best of luck to you

If you were red flagged you must be getting pills from different sources. Illinois has the same program and surprise surprise I've had my own experience with it. Doctors who check into this will not give you any narcotic meds and pharmacies won't fill any of these meds for you either. Turn this situation into a positive and use it to cut pills out of your life....

To answer your question, it means it will be nearly impossible to get itmore pain meds unless you are in a crisis or surgery and it will be monitored closely.   It wont be so easy to get scrips from here on out.

Red flagged means that it has been noted in your medical records that you are either getting pain meds from more than one source, abusing or addicted to them.   Have you been getting them from more than one source?  How long did you have the 96 pills before you ran out and asked for more...like how many a day were you taking vs what was prescribed?
