I'd be making contact with your Physician to let them know you're trying to get clean. Also, drinking some coffee is needed, because you also detox from caffine as these narcotics have a good deal of caffine in them also. Headaches usually are caused by caffine withdrawal, and that's why replacing some of the caffine is helpful. I was just told this recently after I was told to stay away from caffine. Plenty of water is vital, and the new vitamin water is great. Vitamin B-6, and niacin are also very important. If you develop diarrhea, and vomiting? Immodium, and Phenergan suppositories work well. The main thing is do not let yourself get dehydrated, because that is the killer. It's also important to replace your potassium. It's the salts that fire the heart, and it's essential. and extremely important to replace. I wish you the best, and pray you'll make it through this very difficult procedure of detoxing. Sincerely, Franny
What mg are you on per day and how long have you been taking? Do you have access to NA meetings for support? Do you have anyone close that you can talk to about this? Do you have any specific goals or plans on keeping sober? Are you planning to cold turkey this or gradually taper? Sorry for all the questions but these all are very important aspects of getting/ staying clean!
Warm baths w/ Epsom salt will be a good starter. Plenty of water, gatoraide, and a full multivitamin. I found that drinking coffee in the morning helps because at the end of the day you will "crash" from the caffiene and be pretty sleepy( you're gonna need all the sleep you can get. Of course be careful with large amounts of caffiene. I'm sure that many on here will disagree with me about the coffee and that is just from my personal experience so take it for what it's worth to you. The biggest thing that helped with the sleep for me was Super Snooze by sundown naturals (puritains pride also manufactures the exact same thing. I bought it at K-Mart for $9.95 for a 45 day supply). It has helped when no other natural sleep remedy has. It also has some vitamins that will help with RLS! Be sure you talk all of this over with your doctor before beginning anything as even natural supplements may interfere with other medication you may be taking.another big thing is to post here and post often as the members here are more than willing to help you become drug free! When you feel the temptation to use, get on here and post your thoughts! Substitute your drug of choice with this forum! I promise that you will feel better after talking to others that are going through the same thing as you are. Keep us posted and answer the few questions at the beginning of my post.
