need help to get off methadone

i have been on methadone  for two years i have just moved to sc from nc and i can not find a doctorso please help

lots of good advice...it is hard to find a dr who will rx u that dose of methadone for pain these days....but a clinic can help u for now....u need to google methadone clinics and the area u r in....there will be several clinics in almost every city..as far as getting a ride there...no one here can help u with a ride??tere r buses etc tho

suboxone as mentioned would also be a choice as u r 3 days out so sub would be an option since u r obviously in wd at this time...the websites are easy to find and thinkin the sub website was mentioned above...Cold turkey off of 100 mgs of methadone is not gonna be pretty..do-able but will be hard...kim715 is the forum member who knows more about methadone adddiction than most of us
lif u r in severe wd u may not be thinking clearly???is there someone who can help u 2 get set up so u can make it thru this wd??? I also think reading thru the health pages would be of some help as it is full of great info...be safe and keep us posted

I don't think she can get on a clinic if she got it for pain before, it's a tough situation. It sounds like you want off and maybe you should try to get some valium and imodium to get you through it. The problem get's more complicated when you have 2 addicts because they both don't always want the same thing. It's easier if you seperate your habit form his and then deal with it.

I have to be honest, I have spent the last hour trying to help. I have suggested several things and you have not spoken with me about any of them, or even addressed my suggestions.

I have to be honest, something is not right. Why would you leave state knowing that you were both going to be going through withdrawal and no means of getting the Methadone? If you were simply moving, you would have made plans.

I, and I know many people here, would love to help you but you have to get honest and tell us what is going on and what exactly it is you want to do. Do you want help with detox? Do you want to find a new clinic? A new doctor? I have asked all of these questions with no answers.

So when you are ready to talk, someone will always be here to lend a hand and help you through this. I can only hope you don't turn back to the streets and you get the help you need. Best of luck to you both!

yes we are trying to help you. I have asked a few time where you are inSC to see if I can find any methadone clinics in your area .What is it that you would like us to do for you

Call your local county board of health and tell them what happenned......unless you want to go cold turkey - - I cold turkey'd a 120mg dose and it took about three months.....but it didnt kill me and I didnt go anywhere else to cop - - - - and I didnt go on sub......And got to the ER if you MUST cop on the street .......it wont cost any more - possibly even cheaper and it will give you time to make a revision of plans......  And chill out some - - - Im know what its like but these people do want to help - - and its not Star Trek so none can beam anything to myou, ya know?

OK hun, so what do you think about the Suboxone? I so hate to suggest it as I do not want to see you get addicted to something else but it scares me more that you will go to the streets and buy...who knows what.

I don't know where you can go. If you can get your records transferred from your doctor to a new one or a new clinic they will help you.

If you want to go the Suboxone route to get you through this, then go to their website..

Suboxone.com and you can find a doctor in your area who can prescribe them.

I really, really hope you don't go to the streets and start this all over again. Now is a chance for you both to get off of this horrible drug. You are in a new area and you have no idea what you are buying....

I wish I could give you a quick fix but you are going to have to do some leg work to get help.

Were you getting the pills form from a doctor for pain relief or were you going to a clinic to get off of other drugs? Let's start there.

Hun, I am trying to help but I don't live in SC nor do I know how the doctor's work down there. Again, I don't know if you were getting them for pain mngt from a doctor or were you both going to a clinic? If it was the clinic then maybe then can transfer your records and you can continue treatment and start to taper.

The only other thing I can suggest is Suboxone. I do NOT recommend it normally but in your case it may be an option to get you both over the hump. Do you have the money to pay for a doctor and the Suboxone pills?
