L-tyrosine is a precursor for the stimulatory neurotransmitters noradrenaline & dopamine & pristiq is a noradrenaline reuptake inhibitor. Aderall also inhibits noradrenaline & dopamine reuptake.
By adding l-tyrosine there is a theoretical risk of overstimulation.
There are no case reports of tyrosine overload, (by contrast with the risk of serotonin syndrome from too much serotonin) which suggests that the body self regulates the amount in circulation to some extent. However, too much stimulation could cause you to have the jitters & cause extra burden on your cardiovascular system.
Aderall & Pristiq together are quite a stimulatory combination & over 4 years your receptors will have developed some tolerance. If you want to stop being reliant on the aderall for energy, it may be best to talk to your doctor about a taper plan.
The vitamins B's are good, the best is sublingual or a shot of them, but be aware that it is not a shoot of energy when you take them , it is a progressive thing, so to speak :)
Good luck, dodie
i went to that thread and you're probably right. but it said taking a 100mg of vitamin B-complex and a subliqual B-12 vit would help for energy. what do you think?
chronic mistake, no i can't tell my dr. when i get them again in 2-3 weeks,i'll make sure i take them right if i do decide to refill them. thanks to you both
Hi, dodie :)
i am not sure it is a good idea mixing an antidepressant with it, pristiq is one, right ?
have found this old thread

L-tyrosine is supposed to work. I bought It but have not tried it yet. I happy for you that you got off pain pills but it sounds like you just switched addictions. I am not sure about the safety of coming off of Adderall. Can you go to your doctor and get help?
