needing some advice

ive been taking methadone 10mg sometimes twice a day for about 4 months...( this week only once a day).... and before that was on vicodin too many a day for about a year. ive tried to stop several times and get into the 2nd or 3rd day and relapse. i got some clonidine from my doctor, .1mg twice a day. long story short, today is my first day off and ive been reading some of these posts and i want to know if its safe to take my klonopin (.5mg) along with the clonidine to help with the  anxiety and withdrawals...also, any other suggestions??? thanks

Just be careful mixing the methadone and the benzo.  Benzos and methadone is a deadly combo.  Make sure you listen to the others and call your pharmacist or ask your doctor.  Do not mix methadone and benzos

hi well good luck with your jump....many make it off at 10mg just expect some withdrawals for about a good week.....if you find its to much for you take your pills and 1/4 them and try droping by 1/4 pill every 3 days till your down to 5mg or 1/2 pill
it will make things eazer in the end....give it a shot first like i said some make the jump form 10 successfuly  it just depends how well you tolerate withdrawals...good luck and God bless....Gnarly

This is a question for a Dr. to answer. Klonopin is for anxiety;it's a benzo. Clonodine
(Catapres) is given for high B/P and drug withdrawals. Did the same Dr. prescribe both meds?    Actually,just call your Pharmacist...they know the most about what's safe.

congratulations for deciding to quit taking that.  I dont know anything about methadone....lots of people here do though.  I believe it s okay to take klonopin (thats like valium right?) with clonidine.  Not really sure about that though.
Get on some vitamins, try to drink lots of water or gatorade, check out that Thomas Recipe, it has really good stuff to try to help you feel better.
