    Hello everyone!
These drugs have really got a hold on me. I started taking them for herniated dics in L4-L5. I now am abusing them. I am taking up to 25 norco 10/325 and 15 soma 350 a day. I have taken them for so long that I have esophgus and stomach problems. I  have gotten no help from doctors, when being open with them. I often think that I want to end my life, but do not want to put my family through anymore then they already been through. I have lost 3 brothers in the past 10 years and my mother had a stroke on 4/23/07. I dont have insurance for a good inpatient program and the state funded programs, in my state are a joke (long time waiting list and only for 5-10 days treatment) I tried detoxing on my own, but with no avail. This system of things are at it's worst. Maybe someone might have an answer for me, that I haven't already tried. I have so much knowledge of prescription drugs, with little of getting off of them. I have tried many things, including the thomas recipe with no avail. Tried tapering many times, but always failed at that. I don't want to die but I know that if something doesn't give, it's just around the corner. I often read many people say "it's doable" Well HOW? When you have been swallowed whole by the the devil and he has you by your tail. Helpful advice is greatly appreciated!!!

I have tried to taper with no avail. I do have some items on hand that I may be able to use for this tough detox, but I need some advice. Keep in mind that I want to this in order to save my life. My toughest is my my first couple of days, in past experience. I must make it past this point, in order to make this happen. I do have a aftercare plan set in place after my detox.

These are the items I have that may or may not be of help:
DARVOCET N-100 (15 tabs)
XANAX 0.25 mg (12 tabs)
IMODIUM mg. (30 tabs)
MOTRIN 200mg.
BENTYL 10mg. (90 tabs)
BENYDRYL 25mg. (24 caps)
MULTI-VITIMANS
HERBAL CLEANSER- (contains aloe vera, red raspberry fruit, senna leaves, cinnamon bark, barberry bark, fennel seeds, cornsilk, ginger Rhizome, bitter orange, Dandelion root and Capsicum fruit.
MYLANTA LIQUID
ST.JOHN WORT
B VITAMINS
PRILOSEC OTC

I have locked myself in my home, gave someone my automobile keys, with good spirits and High hopes of making this happen. I am already very uncomfortable and I am actually saying to my self "BRING IT ON AND LETS GET IT OVER WITH' so I can lead a normal and productive life again. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!!

I have been prescribed soma and vikes for 7 years. I C/T off the vikes about a month ago for over a month then something happened at home and here I am again on the same merry go round. SO, what I am hearing you say is it IS safe to C/T off of BOTH soma and vikes at the same time? I am not that up on drugs. What is norcos? Is that a painkiller? I would LOVE to get off BOTH these drugs by the first of the year. I know I have to pick a week and just do it. Thanks for any info you can give me on this detox of my combination. Precious

You can do it, you just have to be totally ready.  Set a date and stick to it.  I was taking norcos and somas too.  It's really tough but it can be done.  I am on day 26 right now and I feel great!  Just stay on here and read everybodys words of wisdom.  The way I did it was picking a date, taking some vacation from work and locking myself in my house for days.  I would go on walks to get fresh air.  I just knew that I would be miserable, uncomfortable, not sleep, not eat and want to take a pill.  This was my first attempt and it worked because I was soo ready.  I rented lots of movies too even though I can't remember them now.  I quit cold turkey.  I got rid of everything I had in the house.  Try and think positive!  Start writing in a journal, the first page should be all the reasons that you want to quit.  Good luck to you, you will be able to do it!

How are you getting that many pills?  Are you able to use the funds you are using to get the pills to get Suboxone instead?  That is the only way I could get off a similar Norco habit - 30 per day.  I was getting them from doctors (several) so it wasn't costing much but still if I'd put the money I used for drugs towards the suboxone I'd have been off all of this a long time ago.
Please don't hurt yourself - you are worth the effort to try to get clean.  There are some Suboxone research studies where you can try to get in for free.  Look at suboxone.com and naabt.org
Keep posting.
