not getting off the hook so easily

not getting off the hook so easily

okay, i'm starting to feel it.  damn!  i have no idea what i am in for.  i have been using 30-40mg  of  methadone a day for...at least a year now, but i will often take a few days break and then binge again.  i think i have been clean for a full week maybe...twice in the passed year, and the WD was not that bad, so i always assumed that my habit wasn't that bad.  have i just not been giving it time to kick in?  with a habit like mine, can anyone fathom how long the wds will last?

because of methadones long 1/2 life you aren't going to have the full effects of w/d for several days. All the sub did was hold that off for a few. The longer you take methadone the harder it is. I quit cold of 65mg..it was very difficult to say the least but I did it. Methadone is a nasty drug..if you continue to use it over long periods of time you will start to "look" like it..it makes you gain weight, can give you what they call "meth mouth" and your skin will also show it..w/d from methadone varies for everyone..but you can typically expect certain symptoms to hang on for a couple months..you will feel better but there are good days and bad days..the first 2 weeks are hardest..hang in there and stick with it...methadone is like playing with fire. and it burns
