off norco for 202 days now!

i never thought i would see this day..  But i honestly can say that it is wonderful..  my life seems to be so much better and fuller even..  when i wake up in the morning i don't find myself dopesick looking for that next fix ..  or being able to take a trip without the constant worry of running out..  this is what living is..   and opiate free..

i know what it feels like to have the opiates take your life without so much as a warning..  i know what it had been like to trying to find the next pill so i wouldn't go through withdrawals..  it is scary, but we can do this..  and everyday opiate free gets a little easier..  i didn't think my brain would ever shut up about them or i would ever stop having those dreams about using..  but everything does eventually subside and your life starts to take a turn for the better..  i feel so much better than any pill could give me..

for those who are struggling out there ..   i know it is hard and you feel like there is nowhere to turn to..  but that isn't true there are so many loving, caring, people on this site that will take you in and help you every step of the way..  the number one step in becoming and staying clean is admitting you have a problem..  and we all know that is very hard to see in ourselves ..  But once your past that and ready to live opiate free your gonna have to take it one minute at a time..  And remember that using isn't an option anymroe..
GOOD LUCK TO ALL THAT ARE GETTING CLEAN..  AND REMEMBER ANYTHING THAT IS IMPORTANT IS WORTH FIGHTING FOR..  AND WITH ADDICTION YOU HAVE TO FIGHT WITH YOUR WHOLE HEART..

well thanks to everyone that helped me through my tough time..  And i am never looking back just forward..

Sophia

I'm so proud of You.....

Has it been that long already??  I'm glad your free of those chains.

And your so right. We weren't living while our addiction is running us. But when we step out of the active addiction and begin to heal....we heal..then the next thing is living.

You get a golden star everyday you've said no.

I really hope to one day be saying the same things that you are. I don't even know where to start that's my problem. I just posted in the site I am new and I am new to trying to rid my life of this drug. How did you do it?
